Coste, Bottalico possible replacements in Phillies TV booth

Brad Lidge, Chris Coste, and Ricky Bottalico are among the possible replacements in the Phillies broadcast booth.

With Wednesday's announcement that Chris Wheeler and Gary Matthews are out as broadcasters for Phillies television broadcasts, attention naturally turned to who will replace the pair.

Rob Maaddi, who originally broke the story, offered the following:

Among those thought be potential replacements are former Phillies closer Brad Lidge, who was 48-for48 in save situations during the 2008 World Series championship season, Chris Coste, a backup catcher on that team, and former All-Star closer Ricky Bottalico, who currently serves as a postgame analyst.

Some thought the team would consider moving Scott Franzke and Larry Andersen from radio to television, but according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com, that is not the case.
