Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb says there have been no contract talks between his agent and the Eagles, and he called a report last week to the contrary "obviously false."

"We haven't even talked to them as far as I know," Kolb said during an interview on WIP, according to the team's Web site. "That totally blew me away when that was reported because that was obviously false.

"I don't even talk to my agent that much about it because ultimately it doesn't have anything to do with what we say ... We know there's still some time here and I'm sure there'll be a phone call some time in the near future or a meeting. But as of right now we're just going to let it iron out and have faith that the right decision's going to be made."

Kolb has one year left on his contract, as do Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick. The Eagles ultimately will have to decide what they want to do, but they have not done that yet. Andy Reid has said McNabb will be the starter.

Kolb has previously said he thinks he is ready to be an NFL starter, but also that he would be a "team player." Kolb started two games for the Eagles last season when McNabb was sidelined with a rib injury.

"I wish that I could have played last year," Kolb said. "With that being said I'm going to wish it even more this year so it's tough but I know it's an even harder situation for the Eagles. My gosh, there's three of us back there that can play so I'm going to keep their feelings in mind and try to remain positive no matter what happens."

During the interview, Kolb said he sees himself as an Eagle moving forward.

"I feel like I fit in this system so well," Kolb said. "And not just the system, but the coaching staff and the players and the personnel all the way around, even on the other side of the building with the business side and all that. I just feel like our personalities really fit well together and I look forward to taking over this thing one day and working with those guys. So I would never wish myself to be anywhere else."

"I feel like I fit in this system so well." That's the key folks. Kolb is the type of QB that fits the West Coast offense much better than McNabb. With Kolb at the helm you won't see as many bombs but the intermediate and short passing will be much better. He's a Drew Brees type QB. The Eagles offense will be more consistent. A more consistent offense will also help the defense.

How come this article not mention who interviewed Kolb? It seems irresponsible.

Kolb will be better than McNabb in this offense. A quarterback that can hit a receiver in stride will be more successful than one with a gun with no touch or accuracy. When is the last time you saw McNabb hit a receiver in stride across the middle or in a slant? That is right, never.

It would be nice to have a QB who can actually hit a wide receiver even when he's not standing still.

mcnabb is done in this town...he's as done as he is after one of his scrambles and needs two plays to catch his breath.

i've always rooted for mcnabb and even when he was hated on, i defended him. but after the last two games of this season and the way kolb played during those couple of games, i'm ready for him to qb this team.

I think the Eagles " top brass " will make 20 surprise roster moves this off season and when they take the field next fall, nothing will really change much. The faces may change but the formula remains the same. That's what bothers me.

eagles will regret it if they trade kolb. he is the best QB on the roster. #5 will never be the accurate passer the west coast offense needs to succeed...Kolb will be.
