BRADENTON, Fla. – Roy Halladay went five innings for the first time this spring and recorded his first win as a member of the Phillies in today's 5-1 victory against Pittsburgh at McKechnie Field.

Halladay gave up three hits, walked two and struck out six. The Pirates scored their only run in the second inning on a lead-off double by Ryan Doumit and a RBI single by Lastings Milledge. Halladay retired eight of the last 10 batters he faced.

The Phillies (6-4) tied the score in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by John Mayberry Jr. and broke it open in the fifth inning when Chase Utley, Ryan Howard and Jayson Werth provided RBI hits.

Cody Ransom, who entered the game in the third inning when Placido Polanco sprained his right knee attempting to field an infield pop-up, hit his third home run of the spring in the seventh inning off of Pirates reliever Jeremy Powell.

Polanco said he will not require an MRI or a trip to the disabled list. The veteran was examined by a Pirates team doctor after he limped off the field with the assistance of two Phillies trainers.
