For the first time in 32 years, the U.S. Open will come to the Philly region June 13-16 when the world's best golfers take on the East Course at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore.

For the first time in 32 years, the U.S. Open will come to the Philly region June 13-16 when the world's best golfers take on the East Course at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore.

SEPTA and local authorities in Delaware County have been preparing for the roughly 100,000 spectators and — thousands of volunteers as well — who will come to the course on Ardmore Avenue near Route 30 for the four-day tournament starting Thursday, June 13. Thousands of fans will also commute to the golf course for practice rounds earlier in the week.

For those who want to stay off the roads and take the train, SEPTA has released a plan for "Getting There." Here's a look at the service SEPTA is providing, parking restrictions at stations nearest the course, and road closures and security procedures at Merion:

The USGA is not allowing spectators to bring several items, including PDAs, tablets and other portable email devices, noise producing devices such as MP3 players, bags larger than 8" W x 8" H x 8" in D, signs posters and banners.
