Eagles coaching search roundup

Since the end of the NFL season, seven head coaches have been fired - five of them along with their team's general manager.

That means there are plenty of openings for potential candidates, including former Eagles coach Andy Reid.

More importantly, it means that the Eagles will have to compete with six other teams when it comes to signing their next coach.

Here's a look at how things stand on Wednesday morning:

    - Mike McCoy, the Broncos offensive coordinator, will interview with the Eagles, according to multiple reports.

    - Doug Marrone, head coach at Syracuse, is very much on the Eagles' radar, reports Jeff McLane of the Inquirer.

    - Dirk Koetter, offensive coordinator in Atlanta, has signed an extension with the Falcons, per Koetter was one of the more talked about candidates, and was reportedly scheduled to interview with the Eagles. You can cross him off the list.

    - According to Rich Hofmann of the Daily News, Oregon's Chip Kelly and Penn State's Bill O'Brien are likely Jeffrey Lurie's top two candidates for the job.

    - O'Brien will reportedly interview with the Eagles, but the same PennLive report points out two potential road blocks for O'Brien to the Eagles. First, his mentor, Patriots coach Bill Belichick, does not think highly of Eagles GM Howie Roseman. Second, Penn State is hoping to extend an offer that would keep O'Brien in Happy Valley.

    - Mike Holmgren, one of Andy Reid's former bosses, said he is willing to listen to offers if teams are interested.


    - The reports on Tuesday had Reid as a near lock to be the Arizona Cardinals' next coach. He will likely interview with the Cards on Thursday, according to ProFootballTalk.

    - Now, Reid will reportedly interview with the Kansas City Chiefs, writes Chris Mortensen of
