What we're talking about after the Eagles' 27-17 win over the Redskins:

* Westbrook's health. Brian Westbrook suffered a concussion in the first quarter when he was kneed in the head by Redskins middle linebacker London Fletcher. There's a good chance he won't be able to play Sunday against the Giants.

* Big-play DJ. The Eagles had just 262 yards in total offense against Washington, but wide receiver DeSean Jackson had 124 on two touchdown plays - a 67-yard run on an end-around and a 57-yard scoring catch after beating Redskins cornerback Carlos Rogers with a double move.

* Struggling McNabb. For the second straight game, Donovan McNabb didn't play very well. Completed only 15 of 25 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown, and was off-target on several passes.

* Witherspoon's impressive debut. Will Witherspoon, the Eagles' new middle linebacker, didn't waste any time making an impact. He had an interception return for a touchdown, a forced fumble and a sack.

* Not much from Vick again. Michael Vick completed his first pass as an Eagle, hitting tight end Brent Celek with a 5-yard gain. His three rushing attempts gained only 9 yards.

5 NUMBERS TO PONDER

* McNabb's TD pass to Jackson came on a third-and-22 play. The Eagles had been 0-for-16 on third-and-10 or more this season before converting that one.

* With their three takeaways against the Redskins, the Eagles have forced 17 turnovers in their first six games. Through six games last year, they had 12. The Eagles have scored 53 points off of those 17 turnovers, including 13 against the Redskins.

* The Eagles committed a season-high 12 penalties in last night's win. They've got 45 in their first six games.

* The Eagles have held five of their six opponents to 17 points or less.

* The Eagles haven't allowed a rushing touchdown in their last four games and have given up just three all season

UP NEXT

The Eagles host the New York Giants in a game moved to 1 p.m. to accommodate Game 4 of the World Series. The Giants come in off consecutive losses.

In many ways, the questions about the Giants and the questions about the Eagles are quite similar. Who are these teams -- the team that has looked quite good or the team that looked really bad?

Here is more on where the Giants stand.

With no run game, Westbrook out, Andy with his predictable play-calling and McNabb with his usual throws into the ground - how are we going to beat the Giants?

it's like drinking all night and finding oprah in your bed in the morning, well that's what my friend pizzacrite said on the radio this morning....don should have had over three yards with yac yards if he could hit a receiver on the numbers sometime..........wolf-out.

We should probably sign a couple of midget wide receivers, they'll have a better chance of catching all of those 3rd and long worm burners.

Between the Phils on the mind 24/7 and not seeing Dawk stalking around in the defensive backfield I just can't get into them this year. Hopefully that will change when the Giants step on the field and the best current rivalry in the NFL continues......

Not that it matters in the big picture but didn't Vick already have one completion coming into this game? Time to stop experimenting with a guy who has lost his burst and get back to basics! Send the wildcat back to Miami.

Eagles are horrible, they either lose to or barely beat lousy teams. Truth is Skins outgained us save for a couple huge plays and if their TE does not go down (he had two catches for 21 yds) we easily could have lost. Why is it Miami plows through folks with their Wildcat and we do nothing with the largest O-line in the league and supposedly the "inventor" of the Wildcat. Good thing a Phillies win in Game 4 will quickly make people forget the Eagles getting pummeled next Sunday by the Giants

Fire Andy Reid
Domo- I asked Sheilt his, and ill ask you too. why, after 11 years in the league, does mcnabb still throw so many balls into the dirt? is it a mechanics issue? if so, why has he not worked on it, or a coach not helped him with it? elite QBs do not continually throw balls into the dirt, whats going on there?

Did anyone notice our "franchise" left tackle dive at Andre Carter's toes right off the snap allowing our franchise QB to get almost broken in half by Carter's sack? I also noticed McNabb glaring at Maclin for not catching one of his patented wormkiller throws. I was really hoping someone would injure Vick so Reid can't bring him in to waste anymore downs. Sorry for the negativity. Good game DJack. Way to go Birds, you proved you can still beat horrible teams.

McNabb's accuracy has always been a problem, but he was way off last night. It's the ribs, I bet, althougth the eagles beat writers seem to have forgotten about that injury. Fortunately, the Giants are, as always, overrated. Baby Eli will be shaking after watching this week's film of the Eagles blitz, and their D is soft on the run and not much better on the pass. The Saints crushed them like a bug, and the Cardinals game was not nearly as close as the score.

The inability to march down the field via a well-executed gameplan on a consistent basis is of major concern. Without the big plays, the D seems to be the only way to score. Big plays are great, but, I feel the teams needs a more balanced and consistent attack. McNabb has been terrible on execution. Great debut by the new LB. Jackson is fun.

As a very positive Eagles fan, I find the past two games very disturbing and reminiscent of last year (Ravens-Bengals) when McNabb went into his yearly funk, this team needs a change, whether McNabb is still suffering form his rib injury or he's just back into bad habits, throwing "worm burners" in the next two games Giants-Cowboys will be the end of the season !!! The defense deserves more from the offense and unfortunately they are not getting it from McNabb !!!

THE-KID (WI)
It is baffling isn't it that after this many years McNabb still misses open receives (3-6 times a game it seems) with throws at their feet. Get ready for another offseason of McNabb-Kolb drama...
