DeSean Jackson is reportedly concerned the Eagles have not been in communication with him this offseason.’s Tim McManus reports that a source close to Jackson says they are “in the dark just like everybody else” when it comes to the wide receiver's standing with the team. The source also told McManus that they thought DeSean would “at least be worthy of communication.”

This new report comes a few weeks after's Jimmy Kempski wrote that the Eagles could be open to trading Jackson after re-signing both Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper.

“There's an opinion among some in the Eagles organization that Jackson's personality is not a great fit with the locker room culture that Chip Kelly is trying to cultivate,” Kempski wrote.

After the acquisition of running back Darren Sproles, Daily News columnist Paul Domowitch wrote that it is not unreasonable to think the Birds may trade Jackson for draft picks.

“He sulked the entire 2011 season after not getting a contract extension, and already has said that he thinks the five-year deal he signed in March of 2012 needs to be restructured,” Domowitch wrote. “[M]ight the Eagles be willing to trade Jackson for more picks? Believe me when I tell you it’s been talked about on the second floor of NovaCare.”

Now Jackson is unsure of his standing with the team and, according to McManus, one of the 27-year-old's top confidants says that the situation has become “a bit of a distraction.”

McManus makes a point that last offseason, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly let each player know their standing with him and stressed the importance of communication.

"I’m really big on open communication. I don’t want there to be gray areas," Kelly said last year. "I think sometimes there are gray areas because there’s a lack of communication between people."

Given this stance, it does seem a bit strange that Jackson has yet to receive a call despite his name being tossed around in rumors for weeks.

The team declined to comment on McManus' story and neither Kelly nor general manager Howie Roseman has openly shot down the rumors when given the opportunity.

Jackson is coming off a career season in his first year under Kelly. He reeled in 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns, and was named to the third Pro Bowl of his career.

If the Eagles are trying to shop the wide receiver, now might be the best time.
