Sixers forward Elton Brand did not make the trip with the team to Detroit for Friday night's game and is listed as day-to-day with a strained right hamstring. Brand had an MRI this morning.

Brand left the Sixers' loss to the Lakers on Wednesday night with 4:49 remaining in the third quarter and was not on the bench for most of the fourth quarter. He finished with three points on 1-for-7 shooting in 25 minutes.

His absence means the Sixers will have to shuffle their lineup. Don't be surprised if Andre Igoudala moves over to small forward and Thaddeus Young starts at power forward as the Sixers go smaller.

Wouldn't it make for interesting discussion if they play better and win?

Obviously, a big slow guy is having a tough time playing with a bunch of fast small guys......and vica-versa......did we just muck up a winning recipe?

Why not start Speights at power forward and leave Thaddeus at small forward. That makes sense to me. Speights is a better power forward than Thaddeus and Thaddeus is a better small forward than Iguodala.

thaddeus is not a better small forward than Andre. He has no handle, bad court vision and his defensive advantage in length is mitigated by his sometimes wavering focus. Don't get me wrong, I'm huge on Thad, and in time I think he will be better, but people seem to forget how good igoudala is and that's so Philly.
