All-Pro for Akers

Eagles kicker David Akers was named to The Sporting News' All-Pro offense today. Voting was done by a panel of by a panel of 636 players, coaches and executives.

Eagles kicker David Akers was named to The Sporting News' All-Pro offense today. Voting was done by a panel of by a panel of 636 players, coaches and executives.

Akers tied for the league lead in field goals with 32, one shy of his own franchise record set last season. His 139 points are five off his franchise record, also set last season.

New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees was named the Offensive Player of the Year, one of two Saints on the All-Pro offense. The other is guard Jhari Evans, a Frankford High and Bloomsburg product.

Minnesota had three players on the All-Pro offense: running back Adrian Peterson, guard Steve Hutchinson and kick returner Percy Harvin.

The defense will be announced tomorrow.
