Agent: Eagles to release McBriar

Eagles punter Mat McBriar has not yet been released, but he has lost the competition to Chas Henry. McBriar will not punt in Thursday's game against the Jets, although the Eagles did not release him yet.

The Eagles will release punter Mat McBriar, according to the Twitter account of McBriar's agent, Jack Bechta. McBriar, a two-time Pro Bowler, had been the Eagles' top punter the previous two games. That would mean Chas Henry has won the punter competition.

They both had eight punts. McBriar averaged a net of 41.3 yards with two inside the 20. Henry had a 33.1-yard net average with five inside the 20.

Henry is entering his second season with the Eagles and has experience as Alex Henery's holder.
