About the Union: Chris Pontius scored his team-high 11th goal in the loss at Portland. It was the 300th goal in franchise history. . . . The Union are one win from tying their single-season record set in 2013 when they went 12-12-10. They are two goals from tying their all-time record of 51 set in 2014. . . . Midfielder Ilsinho is hampered by a foot injury and has played 23 or fewer minutes in each of the last three games. Midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta, the player who makes the attack go, had swelling on his knee this week, but coach Jim Curtin said he expects him to be ready. Defender Josh Yaro is out after receiving a red card (after his second yellow card) during Saturday's loss in Portland. . . . Andre Blake has a 1.50 goals against average and continues to make big saves almost every game. . . . Newly signed German midfielder Kevin Kraft isn't expected to be available for Saturday's game.

About Toronto FC: In 18 games, forward Jozy Altidore has eight goals and four assists. Altidore has scored seven goals in his last seven games, including one on Aug. 20 when Toronto beat the Union. . . . Reigning MLS MVP Sebastian Giovinco, hasn't played since suffering a quadriceps and adductor injury on Aug. 27. He has 16 goals and 13 assists in 26 games and a team official says he is questionable. The team says that others who are questionable due to injury are forward Tosaint Ricketts, midfielder Jay Chapman and defender Josh Williams. . . . In Sunday's 3-3 draw with the Red Bulls, Toronto trailed 3-1 before Altidore scored twice to salvage a tie. Altidore's U.S. national team teammate Michael Bradley has one goal and four assists in 19 games. . . . Defender Astone Morgan is out with a stress fracture in his foot.
