Eagles-Saints: the pick
Les Bowen makes his prediction for Sunday's game.
TWITTER followers might recall that during last week's ugly loss, I promised that if I got the urge to pick the Eagles to win again, I would repeat "Bad team. Bad team," to myself until the urge passed.
The problem here would be that the Saints also seem to be a bad team. So I'm going to go the King Solomon route. A five-point oddmakers' cushion is really plush for a team with a banged-up offensive line that wasn't playing as if it belonged in the NFL when it was healthy.
But I'm already sick of analyzing failure. If the Eagles don't somehow manage to pull this out, they really are done for, and it's a long time till the draft. So I'm going to tell myself that, o-line be darned, Sam Bradford turned a corner in the second half at Washington, and somehow he will produce a season-saving (for now) win Sunday, by the slimmest of margins. And if the Saints win, well, I picked 'em to cover.
