Domo's Take: I wasn't crazy about them taking Smith as early as they did, but they did a very good job with the rest of their draft, picking up value and addressing needs. Aside from Matthews, who probably will open the season as the team's slot receiver, I'm not sure how much playing time this class is going to get early on. But they've added several other guys, including Watkins, Reynolds and Hart, who potentially could be starters within 2 years. Their best pick could end up being the fifth-rounder they gave the Saints in the Darren Sproles deal.

Domo's Take: The good news is the Cowboys had nine picks. The bad news is five of them were in the seventh round. After fighting off the urge to take Johnny Football, Jerry Jones spent his first-round pick well on Martin, who can play all five offensive line positions, and will be one of their starting guards in September. Lawrence was one of the better edge-rushers in the draft, though he's going to have to get bigger and stronger to be an every-down end in Dallas' 4-3. Most of the rest of their picks are a crap shoot.

Domo's Take: The Giants hit all of the major-need spots with their seven selections, with the exception of tight end. Beckham should more than make up for the loss of Hakeem Nicks, and the Giants hope Bromley can replace Linval Joseph as their primary interior run-stuffer. Richburg is an athletic center who should be a Day 1 starter. Williams can't catch a lick, but is a powerful, hard-to-bring-down runner who should improve the Giants' yards-per-carry average (3.5).

They bolstered their offensive line in the third round with the selections of Moses and Spencer. Spencer should be a Day 1 starter. Breeland was great value in Round 4 and will immediately improve the Redskins' sub-packages and eventually replace 30-year-old DeAngelo Hall.

Carey should be a capable backup to Matt Forte.

Adams isn't the fastest receiver in the world, but is physical and catches everything.

Mike Mayock described Crichton as a poor man's Chris Long, which a lot better than being a poor man's Jerome McDougle.

Domo's Take: Whomever ends up being the Bucs' starting QB this season is going to have some very big targets to throw to. The 6-5, 231-pound Evans will team with 6-5, 241-pound Vincent Jackson. They also got 6-5, 262-pound tight end in the second round (Sefarian-Jenkins), all of whom should definitely improve a red-zone offense that finished 23rd last year. Sims was one of the best pass-catching running backs in the draft.

Domo's Take: The Falcons got bigger, stronger and better on both lines with the selections of Matthews and Hageman. Matthews will be a Day 1 starter, probably at right tackle opposite Sam Baker. Hageman was a first-round talent that the Falcons got in the second round. Southward, who has 4.38 speed, can play both cornerback and safety. Unfortunately for the Falcons, he can't do it at the same time. With Steven Jackson turning 31 in July, Freeman was a good fourth-round pickup.

Ealy was good value late in the second round, but there are questions about his consistency. Turner was a solid value pick in the third round and might even be a Day 1 starter at RG. But the Panthers didn't address their biggest offensive line need, which is tackle.

Sunseri, who is recovering from a torn ACL, was a good "futures" pick.

Domo's Take: The 49ers attacked Day 2 with a vengeance. Hyde gives them an ideal eventual successor to the soon-to-be-31-year-old Frank Gore. Martin was the draft's top center. Borland doesn't have great measurables, but is a productive player who gives them insurance if NaVorro Bowman is slow to heal from his injury. Grabbing ACL-rehabbing Thomas with the last pick of Day 2 was a stroke of genius by Trent Baalke. Thomas was a first-round talent before his injury.

Bucannon is a big hitter who will team with Tyrann Mathieu and give the Cardinals a potent, young pair of safeties.

Marsh has a lot of off-the-field issues, as well as a questionable work ethic. But he also is a pretty good pass rusher. If Pete Carroll can keep him focused, the kid will be a fourth-round bargain. Britt probably was a bit of a reach at the end of the second round.

Domo's Take: Getting Watkins, who was the best wide receiver in the draft, was a coup, but the price they paid for him wasn't. They traded up from 9 to 4 with Cleveland, giving the Browns their first-round pick next year and a fourth-round pick. GM Doug Whaley didn't even bother to negotiate. The 1 and 4 was his introductory offer and the Browns jumped at it. Brown is a solid inside 'backer who has the ability to be a three-down player. Kouandjio is a first-round talent, but has knee issues that could shorten his career.

Wide receiver wasn't a need, but Landry was too good to pass up.

One of their other priorities going in was to find some pass-catching targets for their quarterbacks. They did that with the additions of Amaro, Saunders and Evans. Saunders is smaller than DeSean Jackson, but 10 times as tough and also will be a special-teams difference-maker.

Patriots added needed depth to their offensive line with the additions of Stork, Fleming and Halapio.

Domo's Take: Given Josh Gordon's latest misstep, the Browns probably are wondering if staying put at 4 and taking Sammy Watkins rather than trading down with Buffalo might've been the better way to go. But they picked up the Bills' first-round pick next year and got Gilbert, who, at 6 feet and 202 pounds with 4.37 speed, is today's prototype corner. Manziel was great value at 22. Bitonio can play either tackle or guard. West is a big back with good feet who, along with Ben Tate, should give the Browns a good 1-2 running punch.

They further fortified the middle of the defense by adding Jernigan in the second round, and picked up a potential Day 1 starting safety in Brooks.

Domo's Take: For the first time in 7 years, the Steelers took defensive players with both of their first two picks, and got two guys - Shazier and Tuitt - who should have an immediate impact on an aging unit. Shazier was considered a prototype 4-3 WILL, but still should be able to flourish inside or outside in Dick LeBeau's 3-4. Archer is a 4.28 blazer. The 6-4, 211-pound Bryant was a 1-year wonder at Clemson, but was great value in the fourth round and gives Ben Roethlisberger a big target to throw to.

Moncrief has impressive measurables, but needs a lot of work on his route-running skills. With the offseason acquisition of Hakeem Nicks, he probably isn't going to play much early on.

He has franchise-quarterback traits, but needs a watch-and-learn year, which the Jags say they are going to give him. With Justin Blackmon's future in doubt, the Jags bolstered their receiving corps with their two second-round picks, adding big targets Lee and Robinson. Colvin, who was considered a first-round talent before tearing his ACL at the Senior Bowl, was an excellent "futures" pick in the fourth round.

Domo's Take: It's hard to argue with the Texans' decision to pass on a QB with the first pick and take Clowney. He's going to have an immediate impact on a pass rush that had just 32 sacks last year. They got stronger inside on both lines, taking Su'a-Filo with their second-round pick and pouncing on Nix with the second of two third-round selections. They got great quarterback value in the fourth round, taking Savage, who had one of the draft's strongest arms.

Domo's Take: Offensive tackle wasn't a crying need for the Titans going into the draft, but they couldn't afford to pass on a talent like Lewan, who will immediately push free-agent acquisition Michael Oher for the starting right tackle job. Sankey was a terrific second-round pickup for a team that sent Chris Johnson packing. He's got good feet and hands and has the skills to be a three-down back. Mettenberger could be a sixth-round steal if he ever straightens out his act and focuses on football.

Roby is one of the most athletic corners in the draft, but is going to need a lot of work to get NFL-ready. Latimer was a good pickup late in Round 2. Schofield, who was overshadowed by Taylor Lewan in Ann Arbor, will give the Broncos offensive tackle depth behind starters Ryan Clady and Orlando Franklin.

Domo's Take: The Chargers had just six picks, only three in the top 164. They addressed one of their biggest needs in Round 1, grabbing cornerback Jason Verrett. The only negative with Verrett is his size - he's only 5-9 - which could present problems in the era of The Big Wideout. But he plays bigger than that. Chargers traded up in the second round to grab Attaochu, the last true 3-4 outside linebacker left on the board. Some scouts I talked to had Attaochu rated above Eagles first-rounder Marcus Smith.

Domo's Take: Last year, the Chiefs gave up their second-round pick to get QB Alex Smith, which turned out to be a pick well spent. They were prepared to take Johnny Manziel at 23 before the Browns traded up ahead of them and grabbed him. Ford, the guy they took instead, is an explosive pass rusher, but needs to add size and strength before he's ever ready to be an every-down player. Chiefs didn't address their two primary needs - wide receiver and safety.

Domo's Take: What in the name of Al Davis is going on in Oakland? Under GM Reggie McKenzie, these guys are actually starting to act like they know what they're doing. Mack should do wonders for a pass-rush that had just 38 sacks last year and inexplicably let its top pass-rusher - Lamarr Houston - walk in free agency. OK, so maybe they don't always know what they're doing. Carr was good value in the second round, and he'll be able to spend his rookie year watching and learning behind Matt Schaub. Jackson and Ellis were solid picks in the third and fourth rounds.
