Ravens' Bernard Pierce held up in Philly

Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce was held up at gunpoint in Overbrook Park on Sunday night, police sources have told the Daily News.

Pierce, 23, a Temple University alum, was standing with a cousin outside Stacey's Pizza on Drexel Road near Haverford Avenue about 5:30 p.m. when a blue car with tinted windows pulled up. A man in dark clothing emerged and pulled a handgun on Pierce, the sources said.

The gunman took Pierce's wallet, cell phone and car keys, and peeled off in the NFL star's black BMW SUV, the sources said.

Neither Pierce, an Ardmore native, nor his cousin, whose name was not released, were injured.

Pierce's BMW was found abandoned at Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue on Monday.

Police Crime Scene Unit investigators attempted today to recover fingerprints from the vehicle.

"We've been in touch with Bernard, and we're aware of the situation," said Chad Steele, the Ravens' director of public and media relations.

Neither Pierce - who gained 33 yards on 12 carries in the Ravens' 34-31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII in February - nor his representatives at MRM Sports & Entertainment could be reached for comment.
