PENN CHARTER senior righthanded pitcher and shortstop Kenny Koplove has been maned Gatorade Pennsylvania baseball player of the year.
The award recognizes athletic excellence, academic achievement and exemplary character on and off the field. Koplove, who will attend Duke, is a finalist for the national player of the year award.
"Kenny Koplove is a true competitor," Penn Charter coach Jon Cross said. "His work ethic and his overall knowledge of the game really make him stand out. He gives us a chance to win every time he takes the field."
Koplove is the third recent Inter-Ac player named top player in the state, joining Germantown Academy's Sean Coyle (2010) and Malvern Prep's Mike Lubanski (2009).
