Another double-double for Marginean but Drexel falls to Maryland

Credit Gabriela Marginean with her third straight double-double, but it came on the heels of an 82-65 Drexel loss to Maryland yesterday in a women's basketball game at College Park.

Marginean scored a team-high 17 points and added 10 rebounds, but Maryland - which led by 10 at halftime - managed to keep Drexel (2-2) to just 12-for-31 shooting in the second half. Kamile Nacickaite (13 points) and Jasmina Rosseel (10) also led the Dragons. Lori Bjork led the Terrapins (6-1) with 19 points.

* Saint Joseph's suffered an 81-74 loss to St. John's in the final of the Florida International Thanksgiving Classic.

Kelly Cavallo (15 points) and Amy Gillespie (12) were named to the All-Tournament Team. Cavallo's totals were a career best for the Hawks (2-4). Da'Shena Stevens (23 points) led St. John's (5-0).

* Nadia Duncan finished with a career-high 20 points in a 58-47 La Salle loss to Lehigh at the Tom Gola Arena.

Duncan was 5-for-6 from the field and 10-for-12 from the line. Morgan Robertson (10 points, seven rebounds) also led La Salle (1-5). Erica Prosser (17 points) led Lehigh (5-1). *
