1. Hope Jamie Moyer is sharp.
If Moyer is not sharp, it will be a long Sunday night. Typically, however, Moyer gorges on young hitters. However, this is a remarkably disciplined Dodgers group, managed by a communicator who gets his message across. Joe Torre's message: Don't bite when Moyer nibbles. Moyer didn't face the Dodgers this season, but consider what he did against youthful Washington and Florida: 10 starts, 7-1, 2.69 ERA.
2. Shoot the gaps.
This edition of the Phillies sometimes exits a long stand at cozy Citizens Bank Park and begins to swing from the heels in an effort to hit homers at other ballparks. They nearly split their homers this season - 105 on the road, 109 at home. When they were swept in LA, they got three homers in one game, but one in the other three combined.
3. Hope Hiroki Kuroda is off.
When he's on, the Dodgers' rookie righthanded import is impossible. He gave up two runs or fewer in seven of his 11 starts in August and September, including six starts of one run or none. He shut out the Cubs through 6 1/3 in the clinching Game 3 of the NLDS - an outing that looked similar to his Aug. 24 no-decision in Philadelphia.
