Though the 13-10 win over Dallas on Oct. 10 marked Reid's first victory as head coach, it always will be remembered more as "the Michael Irvin" game.
The Eagles offense broke a drought of 18 quarters without a touchdown when quarterback Doug Pederson hit Charles Johnson with a 28-yard pass with 1:07 remaining in the game. Bobby Taylor clinched the win by intercepting a Troy Aikman pass in the final minute.
But the darkest part of the day was the reaction of the Veterans Stadium crowd when Irvin was hit by Eagles safety Tim Hauck and lay motionless on the turf. Irvin, the star wide receiver and key component of the Cowboys' three Super Bowl title winners, was carted off the field as the crowd cheered. He suffered a spinal cord injury and never played football again
Reid's Week 5 record: 4-3 (with two byes). Last year: Idle.
