ATLANTIC CITY - The Atlantic City Surf will have to wait another night to continue their comeback attempt in the first round of the Can-Am League playoffs after their dramatic win at nearly 3 a.m. yesterday.
Because of Tropical Storm Hanna, last night's scheduled Game 4 at Bernie Robbins Stadium was postponed until tonight at 7:05.
After a 3-hour, 18-minute rain delay and a 20-minute power delay Friday night, the Surf rallied to beat Quebec, 9-8, but the Capitales lead the best-of-five series, two games to one.
The Capitales had an 8-0 lead after 51/2 innings, before the Surf came back with five in their half of the sixth, including a three-run home run by first baseman Eddie Kim and a blast by second baseman Brad Thoma.
Atlantic City cut the lead to 8-7 with a pair of runs in the eighth before the rain delay.
In the ninth, the Surf loaded the bases, and Quebec reliever David Wasylak threw a pair of wild pitches to bring home the tying and winning runs.
Leftfielder Alex Nuñez went 5 for 5 for the Capitales.
Trenton vs. Aeros. In their bid for a second consecutive Eastern League title, the Northern Division champion Thunder will take on Southern Division champ Akron.
The Aeros won their division series, 3-1, with a 5-1 victory yesterday over the Bowie Baysox. Cleveland Indians designated hitter Travis Hafner, on a rehabilitation stint with Akron, hit a grand slam in Friday's win.
The EL finals are scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday in Akron, Ohio.
Camden postponed. The Riversharks' regular-season Atlantic League game yesterday at Campbell's Field against the visiting Newark Bears was postponed because of rain.
A doubleheader, including the makeup game, will begin today at 1:05 p.m.
