Andrews misses Eagles camp; Westbrook arrives

Eagles Pro Bowl guard Shawn Andrews is out but Pro Bowl running back Brian Westbrook is in.

Andrews told the team he will not report to camp today because of personal reasons and it is not known if his absence is excused.

"It's for personal reasons," said Andrews' agent Rich Moran. "Shawn has been in contact with the Eagles and they're working on getting him there."

There had been a report on profootballtalk.com that Andrews absence was a contract issue but Moran said that was not the case. Andrews will earn a base salary of $2.9 million this coming season and it falls to $750,000 next season.

Moran said Andrews has had several conversations with Eagles coach Andy Reid.

Andrews also missed the last week of mini-camp for personal reasons."I can say it is a little bit related, but not 100 percent," Moran said.

Meanwhile, Westbrook pulled up to his Lehigh University dorm in his black BMW at 5:45 p.m. and talked extensively about his contract situation.

Westbrook, who officially hired Todd France as his new agent, said he considered not coming to camp but decided to let negotiations continue.

France, according to Westbrook, talked with Eagles vice president of player personnel Howie Roseman earlier in the day. Westbrook is in the third year of a five-year 24.9 million deal.
