Saint Joseph's announces 2008-09 basketball schedule

Saint Joseph's announced its 2008-09 men's basketball schedule, which includes Atlantic 10 home and away games against Big 5 rival Temple, along with Massachusetts and St. Bonaventure.

The Hawks will play their home games this season at the Palestra while construction, renovation and expansion continues at the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. The rest of the Hawks' A-10 home slate is Charlotte, Duquesne, George Washington, Rhode Island and Xavier.

The Hawks will travel to Dayton, Fordham, Richmond and Saint Louis, while visiting La Salle at the Palestra.

In nonconference action, Saint Joseph's will host Creighton, Cornell, Drexel, Penn, Rider and Siena, and visit Ball State, Holy Cross, Lehigh, Towson and Villanova.

The Hawks also will head to Hawaii for the 2008 Maui Invitational, from Nov. 24-26. Alabama, Chaminade, Indiana, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oregon and Texas will join the Hawks.
