Eagles sign three free agents

The Eagles announced today that they signed three rookie free agents. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Quarterback Casey Hansen (6-foot-6, 220 pounds) threw for 4,277 yards and 19 touchdowns during his two-year career at Norfolk State, where he led the MEAC in 2006 with 2,166 yards.

He was a second-team All-Foothill Conference performer as a sophomore in 2005 at Chaffey Junior College in Rancho Cucamongo, Calif., after transferring from Colorado State.

Linebacker Gary Butler (6-1, 235 pounds) played at California (Pa.) and registered 69 tackles, 12 sacks, and four forced fumbles in his senior season, earning PSAC West defensive player of the year honors and leading the Vulcans to a 13-1 record.

Linebacker Mark Staffieri (6-3, 232 pounds) recorded 54 tackles and one sack during his senior season at Brigham Young and finished his four-year career with the Cougars with 132 tackles and 2 sacks.
