Sixers' Young not feeling the pressure
So how does that explain the play of 76ers rookie Thaddeus Young, who will not turn 20 until June?
Young and veteran Andre Miller are the only Sixers who have scored in double figures in each of the four playoff games with the Detroit Pistons.
Young is averaging 11.5 points in the series, behind only Miller, who is averaging 17. So is Young surprised?
"No," the forward said after a film session and light workout yesterday at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. "I'm just going out and focusing in and listening to coaches and trying to help my teammates."
Streak shooter
Coatesville's Richard Hamilton is known as one of the better shooters in the NBA, but his four games against the Sixers have shown a streaky side.Hamilton was 5 for 17 in the Pistons' opening loss, then was 9 for 16 in Game 2 and 9 for 18 in Game 3.
In Sunday's win over the Sixers, Hamilton shot 1 for 13 in the first three quarters but then went 6 for 9 in the fourth period, when he scored 12 of his 18 points.
"Rip just caught fire," Sixers coach Maurice Cheeks said.
