UCLA's Mbah a Moute declares for NBA draft

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute is the latest UCLA player intending to leave early for the NBA.

The 6-8 junior forward said yesterday he will enter the draft, but won't hire an agent right away, keeping him eligible to return to UCLA for his senior year.

"I feel that it is in my best interest to see what the NBA has to offer," Mbah a Moute said.

His UCLA teammates, All-American freshman Kevin Love and sophomore Russell Westbrook, announced Thursday their intentions to go pro.

Mbah a Moute averaged 8.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game during the regular season. The 21-year-old native of Cameroon was part of three consecutive Final Four teams at UCLA.

In other draft news of note:

* Memphis All-America guard Chris Douglas-Roberts will enter the NBA draft, joining teammate Derrick Rose as an early entry to the pros.

* Pat Flannery, 50, retired after 14 years as Bucknell's basketball coach and become a fundraiser there after leading the small Patriot League school to two NCAA Tournaments, highlighted by a victory over Kansas in 2005 and a Top 25 ranking the next season.

* New Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford will make about $9 million over 7 years under a deal revealed at a regents meeting. The contract calls for Ford to make $1.3 million per year. *
