The 6-foot-8, 220-pound Spencer averaged 11.4 points and 7.4 rebounds last winter for a team that finished 28-5 and produced five Division I players.
"They got a good one," Brunswick coach Walter Shaw said. "He's explosive, and can run the court and finish. He's going to make the crowd go wild."
Oklahoma State, North Carolina State, Kent State and George Washington were also recruiting Spencer, a native of Charlotte, N.C.
"Coach Flint came in and met Spencer and his mother, and in the end that's who they were the most comfortable with," Shaw said.
With the spring signing period beginning tomorrow, Spencer is expected to join Chris Fouch in making official a decision to attend Drexel. Fouch is a 6-1 guard from Rice High School in New York City.
In October, 6-5 forward Sam Givens of the Academy of the New Church, and Kevin Phillip, a 6-7 forward from Bishop Loughlin High in New York City, signed letters of intent with the Dragons.
