Colorado sends 'Nova women out of the NIT

Villanova went cold in the final three minutes and fell to Colorado, 64-58, and was eliminated from the Women's National Invitation Tournament last night in Boulder, Colo.

The Wildcats had taken a 35-28 halftime lead, and were ahead by 57-51 with 2 minutes, 40 seconds to play. But the Buffaloes outscored Villanova, 13-1, the rest of the way.

The Wildcats, who were led by Stacie Witman's 20 points, finished their season 17-16. Colorado (18-14) advances to the fourth round, hosting Texas Christian (23-11) at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Dave Barnes is living the dream. Well, maybe not at this particular moment. Thanks to a bout with food poisoning, the singer-songwriter is a day behind schedule, taking a commercial flight from his home in Nashville to play at the annual Taste of Chicago jamboree.
