Potulny's goal lifts Phantoms

Ryan Potulny scored at 13 minutes, 45 seconds of the third period last night as the Phantoms earned a 2-1 AHL victory over the Portland Pirates at the Wachovia Spectrum.

Potulny scored against Portland's Mike McKenna, who replaced starting goalie Jean-Sebastien Aubin after two periods.

The Pirates (41-21-2) took a 1-0 lead on Simon Ferguson's goal 3:23 into the game.

The Phantoms (39-23-2) tied it in the second on Kyle Greentree's goal 13 seconds before the period ended.

Phantoms goalie Martin Houle saved 24 of 25 shots. Portland's Aubin stopped 19 of 20 shots and McKenna saved eight of nine.
