Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A
The IronPigs rallied to edge the Buffalo Bisons, 3-2, in walk-off fashion at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Pa.
The offense was held to seven hits, but used three in the ninth inning for the victory.
Third baseman Nate Spears reached on an infield single and would score on shortstop Freddy Galvis' RBI single to bring the winning run to the plate in first baseman Maikel Franco. The fans would go home happy as Franco belted a two-run, walk-off home run. It was his 12th homer of the season.
The rally would let right-handed starter Jeff Manship off the hook. Manship gave up two runs on four his and four walks in five innings.
Righty Phillippe Aumont (3-1, 3.21 ERA) delivered two perfect innings and picked up the win in relief.
The IronPigs (59-70) have an off day on Monday.
Reading Fightin Phils – Double-A
The Fightin Phils won a pitchers' duel over the Binghamton Mets, 1-0, at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pa.
Left-handed starter Hoby Milner (8-6, 4.25 ERA) was dominant as he used only 99 pitches to complete a three-hitter. Milner struck out five.
The Fightin Phils pushed across the game's only run in the fourth inning. Left fielder Albert Cartwright led off the frame with a double and scored on first baseman Jake Fox's two-out RBI single.
Cartwright accounted for three of Reading's seven hits.
The Fightin Phils (56-72) are idle on Monday.
Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced
The Threshers routed the Lakeland Flying Tigers, 10-1, to complete a three-game series at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.
Four pitchers combined on a three-hitter and right-handed starter Kevin Walter (1-3, 4.83 ERA) allowed a hit, two walks and a hit batsman in five innings for the win.
Righty Ulises Joaquin couldn't complete the shutout as he surrendered a run in the ninth.
The offense was powered by shortstop J.P. Crawford (3-for-5 with a run scored, two RBI and a strikeout) and third baseman Harold Martinez (2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs scored, four RBI and a walk).
First baseman Art Charles had an odd day as he walked in all five of his plate appearances, scoring twice.
The Threshers (25-31 in second half, 42-82 overall) will travel for a four-game series against the Daytona Cubs. Righty Miguel Nunez (5-7, 4.86 ERA) is slated to start the opener on Monday.
Lakewood BlueClaws – Class A
The BlueClaws blanked the Hagerstown Suns, 9-0, at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood Township, N.J.
A seven-run second inning put the game out of reach early.
Three BlueClaws had three-hit games in the win: center fielder Carlos Tocci (3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, an RBI and a walk), catcher Andrew Knapp (3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI) and first baseman Willians Astudillo (3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI).
Right-handed starter Jon Prosinski (5-5, 3.68 ERA) benefitted from the runs and earned the win. He allowed only seven hits while striking out four over seven innings.
The BlueClaws (22-35 in second half, 49-77 overall) have an off day on Monday.
Williamsport Crosscutters – Class A-Short Season
The Crosscutters beat the Mahoning Valley Scrappers at Eastwood Field in Niles, Ohio.
The offense could only muster six hits, but made the most of them in the win.
Third baseman Derek Campbell (2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base) and catcher Deivi Grullon (2-for-4 with two strikeouts) recorded four of those hits.
Left-handed starter Brandon Leibrandt (2-2, 1.75 ERA) was charged for a run on five hits and a walk while striking out five in five innings for the victory.
Right-handed closer Calvin Rayburn (1.42 ERA) went two innings to notch his eighth save of the season.
The Crosscutters (29-34) are idle on Monday.
