Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A
The IronPigs were held in check by the Rochester Red Wings, 6-1, at Frontier Field in Rochester, N.Y.
It was Lehigh Valley's 10th consecutive loss.
Right-handed starter Brad Lincoln (5-7, 4.73 ERA) was charged with six runs in 4 1/3 innings and took the loss.
The IronPigs' lone run came in the fourth as center fielder Clete Thomas drew a walk, stole second and scored on left fielder Cam Perkins' RBI single.
The offense added only two other hits as third baseman Maikel Franco and right fielder Leandro Castro both singled.
The IronPigs (49-62) will turn to southpaw Greg Smith (7-8, 4.41 ERA) in the series finale on Wednesday.
Reading Fightin Phils – Double A
The Fightin Phils split a doubleheader with the Portland Sea Dogs at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine.
In the first game, Reading was edged, 3-2.
Shortstop Edgar Duran was a force at the plate in the loss as he went 3-for-3 with three doubles and an RBI.
Right-handed starter Ryan O'Sullivan (5-6, 3.25 ERA) let Duran's effort go to waste. O'Sullivan allowed three runs on seven hits, four walks and a hit batsman over six innings.
The Fightin Phils recovered for a 4-1 victory in the second game.
Duran added another double for good measure, to finish the day 4-for-6 with four doubles and two RBI.
Four pitchers held the Sea Dogs to a run on six hits in the win. Righty Kyle Simon (3-2, 2.83 ERA) delivered three scoreless innings to pick up the victory.
The Fightin Phils (45-63) go for a series split when lefty Adam Loewen (1-4, 4.05 ERA) takes the ball on Wednesday.
Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced
The Threshers held on to beat the Fort Myers Miracle, 5-3, at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers, Fla.
Right-handed starter Colin Kleven (4-8, 4.89 ERA) recorded seven strong innings to earn the win. He gave up two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four.
Center fielder Roman Quinn (4-for-5 with a run scored, two stolen bases and an RBI) and designated hitter Brandon Short (2-for-5 with a double, a run scored, a stolen base, an RBI and two strikeouts) powered the offense.
The Threshers (16-22 in second half, 33-73 overall) will hand the ball to righty Miguel Nunez (4-7, 5.44 ERA) as the series continues on Wednesday.
Lakewood BlueClaws – Class A
The BlueClaws cruised to a 7-2 win over the Kannapolis Intimidators at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood Township, N.J.
The first four hitters in the BlueClaws' lineup all had two-hit games.
Second baseman Andrew Pullin (2-for-4 with a run scored, two RBI and a strikeout) and right fielder Dylan Cozens (2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and a strikeout) drove in multiple runs.
Center fielder Carlos Tocci (2-for-4 with a double, a walk, three runs scored and a strikeout) led the way from the leadoff spot.
Left-handed starter Yoel Mecias (2-0, 1.20 ERA) picked up the win as he held the Intimidators to a run on five hits and two walks in five innings.
The BlueClaws (15-24 in second half, 42-66 overall) hit the road for a series with the Delmarva Shorebirds. Righty Jon Prosinski (4-3, 4.21 ERA) is slated to start the opener.
Williamsport Crosscutters – Class A-Short Season
The Crosscutters split a doubleheader with the Batavia Muckdogs at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia, N.Y.
Williamsport made the most of two hits in a 3-2 win in the first game.
Second baseman Drew Stankiewicz had a part in all three runs in the game. He went 1-for-2 with a two-run double, a walk and a run scored.
Right-handed starter Mitch Gueller made those runs count and got the victory. Gueller allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over five innings.
In the second game, the Crosscutters lost a pitchers' duel, 1-0, in 11 innings.
Righty Manny Martinez served up a walk-off home run for the game's only run.
The Crosscutters (22-23) return home to host the Connecticut four a three-game set. Righty Feliberto Sanchez (2-4, 5.90 ERA) will toe the rubber in the opener on Wednesday.
