Deep Dark Chocolate Tea Bread
2 cups sifted flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup milk
3 tablespoons melted shortening
1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Combine dry ingredients and sift into large bowl. Beat together egg, milk and shortening. Add to first mixture and stir only until dry ingredients are moistened. Fold in semi-sweet chocolate pieces. Pour into greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Bake in 350-degree oven 1 hour. This recipe makes 1 loaf.
