The long overcoat fluttered like a cashmere flag in a nor'easter as the man crossed blustery Fayette Street on his way to dinner at Blackfish. But the enormous silvery metal valise in his hand dangled unswayed in the heavy wind.

We were very excited to try Blackfish's location in Stone Harbor a few weeks ago based on the reviews of the Conshohocken location. We had the opportunity to go on a Thursday evening. We were very dissappointed with the interior which was very loud and not very inviting. Tables are lined up in straight rows along the walls so there is very little ambiance. The melon prosciutto and the tomato mozzarella appetizers were tasty if predictable. The tuna tartare was perfectly delicious. The Cape May oysters were overpowered by the carbonated lemon, so much so that you could not even taste the oysters. Dinner was mainly enjoyable. The halibut, slamon and "surf and turf" all tasty. The short ribs on the surf and turf initially put us off but, after our server's description, turned out to be well worth the calories. The bouillabaisse had a lot of seafood in it and had the makings of a great entree but it was so overcooked which any chef should have been able to see. All in all, not a bad dining experience but not worth the price. We're still anxious to try the Conshohocken location and hope for better results.
