Still the best and now more of it: The quintessential Italian BYO makes a move, doubles in size, takes risks, triumphs.
There was always a pinch of magic to the pancetta-scented air inside the old Melograno. With little more than 34 seats, an open kitchen, and a bare-white decor, that bright corner room became one of the city's best trattorias and a jam-packed emblem of the BYOB revolution. » Read more

Not a fan
We have been to the former Melogrono Restaurant several times. The restaurant was convenient for some cultural events, but every single time we went there, we felt like second class citizens by Rosemarie Tran. Maybe we weren't one of the "beautiful people" so we were sat next to the bathroom or thrown outside on tables that sat on a slope. I can see once or twice being treated poorly by her, but more than twice, shame on us. In addition, we never found her friendly but rather, that we were doing her a favor by coming to her restaurant. I think I will pass trying out the new location. In these turbulent times, I expect a welcoming attitude. The food was okay, but the small portions are nothing to write home about. Sorry Craig, I disagree with your review. Maybe they knew who you were unlike us, regular customers.

I've heard the same
In response to above... I can't tell you how many times I have heard this from others. Reviews from friends and family mean more to me than those in the paper and it is for this reason I doubt I'll be hitting this place up any time soon. Excellent service with good food is better than decent service with excellent food.
