Style:
The owners of Standard Tap in Northern Liberties are trailblazing again, breathing new life into a vintage dive in up-and-coming Fishtown. It still looks like a '60s watering hole, but the great local beers and tasty (if limited selection of) Mediterranean-style tapas reflect an exciting new spirit in the neighborhood.
Specialties:
Octopus; fried shrimp; mushroom cigar; mako kabob; grilled Brie; eggplant Parmesan.
Alcohol:
DRINKS: There are still jugs of treacly King's port for the old-timers and Pabst Blue Ribbon for the trendies. But the real stars are the top-notch local beers on draft, from Stoudt's American Pale Ale to Victory's extra-bitter Hop Wallop.
