Add this charming shoebox eatery to the growing list of hot BYOBs, this time brightening a dreary block of South Street near Graduate Hospital. Owner Hillary Bor and boyfriend Ian Moroney, former Little Fish chef, present a menu that turns on simple and satisfying Mediterranean combinations, and a casual ambience with service that is warm, if not always smoothly paced.

Update, from a recent revisit.
Always a charmer, this shoebox-sized pioneer of the BYOB movement from Ian Moroney and Hillary Bor near the old Graduate Hospital has made tremendous strides since my last visit – and earned its third bell.
The dining room was recently renovated with colorful salvaged-wood planks, and seats were removed for more space. The addition of Christopher Kearse as chef de cuisine, however, has really helped lift this kitchen to the next level with creativity, artful plating and modern techniques that enhance great ingredients without overwhelming.
