No comments from front office because Reid was out of the country. Now that Reid is back, he is lobbying to keep Vick. Reid loves his gimmicks. Lurie is weak and will roll over and keep Vick. Zero tolerance is just talk from a weak personality.

Yes cut Kolb now. After his arrest yesterday, Jamarcus Russell now qualifies to be an Eagle...sign him. Also, now that all is good with Vick extend his contract through 2020 before the mad rush by other teams to trade for him. Then, let Jamarcus and Mike fight it out for the starting QB job. Important: Have Andy remind them to fight it out without guns.

Mr Vick courageously fought his way through this difficulty. Character and intelligence prevailed. He has this year's Ed Block award sewed up again.

Now that Jamarcus Russell has proven himself with his recent arrest its only logical that the Eagles sign him and cut Kevin Kolb. Vick and Russell...perfect together...the real haters would just love that.

The Vick supporters like to bring up Ben Rothlisberger's bad behavior as a defense of Vick. That makes no sense because the so called haters are just as willing to condemn Rothlisberger's bad behavior. Bad behavior is bad behavior. Why are excuses made for bad black behavior.

If Reid decides to keep #7, he risks embarrassing his owner and the whole organization. He and #5 engineered the plan to bring Vick to Philly. He now must cut #7 and stop all of the bad press he has brought to this organization. After this incident, no team will give up a draft pick for him. He has no value. Winning with #7 brings no satisfaction just more negativity.

The NFC East and the Eagles' draft

Eagles did not have the 3rd best offense last year. They were ranked 11th. The O-line will not be any better with Kolb getting rid of the ball quicker then McNabb. This O-line cannot run block. Running plays are not called because the coaches do not have any confidence in the run blocking ability of this O-line. They continually failed at the goal line and in key short yardage situations. This offense cannot improve its ranking until the O-line is upgraded and able to run block.

What are they going to do about the Offensive Line? The O-line coach and QB should be screaming about not getting any help. That O line can't run block and is about average on pass protection. Will they attempt to sign Fanaca from the Jets or drag their feet long enough for Washington or Dallas to sign him. O-Line needs help now.

Eagles need to get O-lineman. When the offense continually goes 3 and out like in the Dallas games the defense tires and looks must worse then they really are. KEEP THE DEFENSE OFF THE FIELD! O-LINEMEN!

The Eagles announced "Loud and Clear" that they do not expect a superbowl or even a playoff run for the next 2-3 years. That announcement was made in the form of letting many veteran players go. Like most modern organizations they have put together a strategic plan , its pretty obvious that it is NOT a NOW plan. They will have many new players to develop after the draft...they know the REBUILDING will take 2-3 years. The only expectation that top management has for the next two years is PROGRESS. They look at things this way...If a player is not likely to be very productive in 3 years from now when the real championship drive is expected then let him go now and put the money into players that will be productive then. Vick and a few others will be too old for the real championship drive and will be gone soon.

Vick, Why all the fuss? He will be traded before the season begins. There will be NO SUPERBOWL this year or next year...the Eagles know this!!! They are REBUILDING, they are now aiming their player moves to 2012 and beyond...Vick does not fit that plan. They know it will take 2-3 years to get all of the young new draftees functioning. NOTHING IS ABOUT THIS YEAR OR NEXT YEAR...WINS AND LOSSES ARE IRRELEVANT TO THE EAGLES FOR NEXT TWO YEARS.

The Eagles know there was not going to be a championship with McNabb, they know there is not going to be one with Kolb for at least 3 years, therefore a high quality backup QB is really not needed either for at least 2-3 years. If Kolb gets hurt it just means more losses and a higher draft pick. The time table is 3 years! Thats when the rebuilding begins to pay dividends.

Excuse me, You say in this article..."There is nothing wrong with wanting to help young African-American quarterbacks; they are still a tiny minority in an NFL otherwise dominated by African-Americans". There is something very wrong with the notion of applying racial bias to these situations. There can never be real racial equality until people like you and others in the white media stop believing that any sort of racial bias is acceptable.

None of the Eagles former assistants needing a QB made a bid for McNabb. Tom Heckert of the Browns only wanted Kolb, Heckert went with Delhome instead of making a pitch for McNabb. Spagnola and the Rams quickly denied the trade rumors, Childress of the Vikings never made a proposal. Brian Baldinger said McNabb has serious flaws. Washington likely got skinned in this deal.

Since Tom Heckert left the Eagles for the Cleveland Browns its very telling that he and the Browns did not make a trade bid for McNabb. Early on they (Browns) had interest in Kolb but disappeared from the scene when they learned only McNabb or Vick were available. Heckert was well connected with the Eagles and he would NOT touch McNabb. Instead he got another veteran QB in Delhome. He apparently would rather have Delhome. The same thing may also be true with former Eagles assistant coaches Spagnola and Childress as neither seemed to want McNabb. There must have been serious flaws in McNabb's game as Baldinger said.
Tue., 04/06/10 - 17:08 PM
Baldinger is referring to the many open receivers McNabb missed because he failed to make the correct read or started running around prematurely. Someone in the know also said about the same thing. Of course Reid would cover up and protect his QB rather than tell the truth and throw him under the bus.

Kolb will not have the 8-10 patsy teams that were on the schedule last year. The Offensive line stinks and will look even worse against better teams this year. Peters is acknowledged as the best the Eagles have but he takes plays off. Kolb will not have the O-Line that McNabb had for many years...Runyan,Tra Thomas, Andrews etc

The Eagles did get good compensation for McNabb. He cost them a first round pick...they had him for 11 years including his prime which has passed...and now they got the equivalent of a first round pick in return for him. Thats a good deal for the Eagles. McNabb has much better physical tools than Kolb, BUT, Kolb has the quick brain that McNabb never had.

I was reading an article a few weeks ago regarding the "Black QB Fraternity" that may be the answer to Moon's interest. In the same article....A noted black NFL athlete said that "Key white players in prominent positions such as QB are very necessary in order to maintain high fan interest levels and the resultant high pay scales for the majority of players which are black. If we drive all of the whites out of the game we will be cutting our own throats. We now are in a process that is leading to that end. We must have at least 2 black panelists on every pre game show, we must have at least 1 game time live commentator, we must have more black head coaches, more black assistant coaches, more black coordinators. More everything. We are letting greed kill a good thing."

The reason for the Eagles 10 year winning run was overwhelming due to Jim Johnson and his defenses...NOT Reid and #5. The defensive league rank was much higher than the offensive rank in all of those years. The defense was holding opponents to an average of around 17 points per game AND gaining good field position for the offense with turnovers. Jim Johnson was really the key element!

The Eagles figure that if he ever wants to play again, he'll likely want to play with his brother and his bud Jason Peters. They will just wait it out and see...and get him back for much less money. In the meantime, with next year's tough schedule, and this o line, I'd hate to be the QB.

Its not that he lost it...its that he never had what it really takes. Attendance hungry owners sell EXCITEMENT to the casual fans. History shows that this type of QB is much less likely to win a championship. Good teams in the playoffs can game plan for the one dimensional QB. Real championship QBs are able to quickly analyze the very sophisticated defenses and pinpoint their weakness on every play. In the playoffs its about the QBs brain not his feet.

Today's defenses are different. The better teams have the more sophisticated defenses and are masters at disguising them. Those better defenses are the ones that you go up against in the playoffs. They do everything possible to confuse the QB reads and they are good at it. To be successful in the post season you must have a QB with a quick brain. The QB must be able to quickly figure out what the defense is really doing and adapt accordingly. Many times the play called from the sidelines is immediately identified by the defense due to tendencies, formations, personnel etc. The game is quickly going back to the QB calling the plays, not in the huddle, but at the line. A great arm and scrambling ability are wonderful, but alone will not get you a championship. #5 has a lot of talent and is probably a decent person but just may not have a quick brain. Now, before all you race baiters come after my comments, I am not saying ALL blacks don’t have quick brains. We all get something, but nobody gets everything.

McNabb 5 more years--NO--- If he plays next year without a new contract then that is a sure signal that he is RETIRING at the end of next season. He keeps saying that he is retiring an Eagle and he'd like to do TV. He has plenty of money and does not want another serious injury. He talked about retiring to TV in 2007 when he was rehabbing his knee. When he got the extra money without extra years that is more evidence. Reid probably promised him the job for his last year as a player, thats why Reid was so quick to name him the QB for next year. McNabb keeps saying he'll be back next year and will retire an Eagle. That how it will be done. Status Quo minus Vick.
Wed., 02/10/10 - 16:04 PM
Sounds like McNabb is back next year. If Mcnabb plays without an extension that most certainly means McNabb is retiring an Eagle at the end of next season. Likely to go to the TV booth which he wants. The Eagles will probably keep Kolb and start him in 2011. If they trade Kolb there will be a huge fan revolt...Banner and the Eagles won't risk that unless they really are stupid.

McNabbgags-I wonder why you picked Warren Moon to compare in your argument. I think I know why. What about #7?
Tue., 02/09/10 - 21:23 PM
McNabbgags...McNabb is a high character very intelligent guy. He wanted nothing to do with TO once he got to know him better. TO is a loser and #5 just does not associate with losers like him. Brady almighty was nothing until Randy Moss came along, just goes to show the character difference between Brady and #5. Brady will take anyone. Fans all over should wear their #5 jersey to show support for our QB. Whats this 4th quarter stuff? Thats the o line and receivers that is choking. Again, I urge all fans to wear their #5 jersey or even #7.
Tue., 02/09/10 - 20:33 PM
McNabbgags...Sensitive...A superstar QB like #5 should never have to answer to fans. When you are the best at what you do you should not take negativity. The vast majority of the fans cheer him and wear his #5 jersey. Just look at all the people wearing #5 jersey. They know and show by wearing his number 5 that he is the best QB that ever played in the NFL.
Tue., 02/09/10 - 19:36 PM
McNabb is the best thing that ever happened to the Eagles. He is a sensational QB and showman. The fans love him and cheer wildly when he dodges a tackler and escapes a sack. He should have been the league MVP this year. The national TV analysts always praise him for his abilities and his intelligence. He has a better arm then Brees and is smarter than Manning. The very very small minority of philly fans that don’t like him always site his passing inaccuracy. If you really look at that, many times its slow receivers like Kevin Curtis or Celek not getting to the spot fast enough. I am tired of the people complaining about the air guitar. That is his unique way of relaxing before the big performance. Its not fair how a few of the fans treat him. If this continues, we are going to lose him, a man can take only so much. I hope and pray that those few fans do not upset him to the point that he asks for a trade.
Tue., 02/09/10 - 15:41 PM
At least he did not blame it on #5. I think he knows #5 is the only chance at a title. Without #5 running, escaping, and throwing TDs this team would not even make it to the playoffs. #5 should have been league MVP! He has a better arm then Brees and is smarter than Manning...both of them. #5 is a great showman and we don't appreciate him. If #5 did not have Reid, and he could do his own thing, then everyone would see his greatness. Most of the passes that people say are not accurate is the receivers not getting there. Like slow ass Curtiss or Celek...my 80 year old mother runs faster than both of them. I am tired of hearing about the air guitar. #5 is just relaxing getting ready for a big performance.
