Blog Post: Union Acquire Offensive Punch - 1 out of 3 total comment(s)
- Wed., 12/07/11 - 16:21 PMDon't know much about him, obviously, he was linked toa Norwegian but it does show that the Union are becoming competitive in Latin America for young players. It also creates competition for Mwanga and McInerney, and gives Le Toux more flexibility to play in the midfield, although he has played better as a striker. Maybe thats because the Union lack another polished goal scorer.
Blog Post: New Conference Format Preserves Flyers Rivalries - 1 out of 7 total comment(s)
- Tue., 12/06/11 - 17:09 PM"What a joke. All they had to do was switch Detroit & Winnipeg."
Why would they want to switch Detroit, one of the great franchises, the South East? That makes zero sense to have them play Florida, Tampa, etc.
Blog Post: Union lose Justin Mapp in MLS expansion draft, quickly sign a replacement - 1 out of 10 total comment(s)
- Thu., 11/24/11 - 09:49 AMMapp gone is good. He was a severely limited player who provided moments of brilliance. Gonzalea gonbe is better because he was paid too much and never played. We are moving in a better direction and should now pickup depth on the backline.

Blog Post: Adu Among The Unprotected By Union - 1 out of 8 total comment(s)
- Tue., 11/22/11 - 16:44 PMWow - Crumbling George - Califf was arguably their MVP and is one of their leaders. What could be so weird about seeing him on a protected list? Also, "Mrletsbereal", you overvalue Mapp. He might be a player if he could use both feet, but it is really ridiculous to see him dribble circles using only his left. The only player on that list I would think about leaving off is Mondragon, only because MacMath looked to like he is going to be really, really good. But, he probably still needs more seasoning, so I would keep that list exactly as it is. PS - Please take Adu, Montreal. So far, that looks to be a mistake.
Article: Indictment of former Penn State coach on sex-abuse charges could bring down Paterno - 1 out of 91 total comment(s)
- Sun., 11/06/11 - 08:03 AMPaterno and his GOP, apple-pie, "values" boosterism always seemed fake to me.
Article: Union seek just the right lineup in second playoff game - 1 out of 19 total comment(s)
- Thu., 11/03/11 - 10:57 AMLook at FC Barcelona's Starting Lineup:
David Villa - 5'9"
Lionel Messi - 5'6"
Pedro - 5'7"
Thiago - 5'8" or Iniesta 5'7"
Fabregas - 5'9"
Xavi - 5'7"
These are all the attacking forwards and miidfielders that play the Lion's share for the best club in the world.
The argument that you need height outside the backline is bunk.

Blog Post: Players reflect on Roberts' death - 1 out of 14 total comment(s)
- Thu., 05/06/10 - 15:23 PMJust a short thing to add. Out here in the baseball outpost that is Central Vermont, we have a summer team, the VT Mountaineers, where college kids play in the summer. Mr. Roberts played for a Montpelier semi-pro team in 1946 & 47. He has come back to Montpelier several times in the past years to visit with the team and community. Up here, in a small community in Vermont, Mr. Roberts was beloved. A life well lived is always a great thing to celebrate. I'll raise a pint to Robin Roberts tonight, for his Phillies history, yes, but more for the sort of man he was.
Blog Post: Talking Larry Brown - 1 out of 73 total comment(s)
- Sun., 04/11/10 - 13:30 PMI agree totally with the idea of Brown as a coach with veto power over some big moves, but not as a de facto GM, nor a "puppet" GM like over at Lincoln Field. We could do no worse than our current morass.

Article: Eagles Notebook: Eagles confident with Fokou starting against Cowboys - 1 out of 4 total comment(s)
- Fri., 11/06/09 - 17:54 PMStrongside (SAM) linebacker covers the tight end a lot, so look for Jason Witten to have a big day. But, then again, its not like Gocong ever shut down Witten...
Blog Post: Richards freezes reporters after Flyers' win - 1 out of 30 total comment(s)
- Fri., 10/23/09 - 08:16 AMAmen - Captains can't do that. It makes him look immature. Pronger should really be the Captain of this team, Richards isn't there yet. As a player, yes, as a leader, no.
Blog Post: Sixers waive Singletary, Swift - 1 out of 16 total comment(s)
- Wed., 10/14/09 - 15:58 PMRicky - I appreciate your optimism, and I agree that the Sixers are on the way up BUT to say that Thad Young and M. Speights are going to average 20-10 is way out there. Young is not a low post player. He's a 3 who can play some 4. He could push close to 20 points a game, I agree, but no way is he averaging 10 rebounds. And Speights is a good young prospect, but will not average 20 a game at this point in his career, more like 12 to 13 with 7 boards. He hasn't proven to be a beast on the glass. The only player with 20-10 ability on the Sixers is Elton Brand, and it looks like his best days are behind him. Also, count me as also surprised to see Singletary get cut so early, but Swift, nah, not really.
