Kelly hopes Foles is long-term QB

I like what Nick Foles has done this year. I really do. The second half this week, however, looked eerily similar to the Cowpukes game. Nick seems to be a very cool customer, but I would like to see some fire from him.....especially when the offense starts to stall on consecutive possessions. We witnessed 4 or 5 drives in a row that ended in punts, and I never saw a hint of "lets get em men...this is PATHETIC!" or "C'mon, wake up, snap outta it!" or maybe even just a simple..."maybe we should try to get a first down....it sure would be nice to give Donnie and the defense rest."

I have no doubt that Donovan was/is a jerk. I've heard those stories from other people close to the organization.
Most of the other stuff is pretty common. Why does Andrews care if someone is a religious hypocrite? Or If some of his co-workers are childish? We all work with people we don't like. If it gets bad enough, quit. We don't all contemplate SUICIDE because we don't like our coworkers.

Eagles' Foles showing he can run the show

I reserve the right to remain a naysayer for a while longer. Granted, Foles is better than I thought he would be, but these are sub-par and/or injury riddled teams he is beating. Keep in mind, the offense that is assembled around him is NO slouch. The ONLY real question mark is at QB. Let's see how he does against another average team like, say, Arizona. Let us not forget how poorly the Eagles team performed against the Cowgirls. Was that game a fluke? We will know for sure after Arizona. He still looks incredibly slow and awkward to me (and I don't just mean slow on his feet).

It never ceases to amaze me, the lies that are perpetrated by the RW. Plame WAS a CIA agent, and she WAS outed, for political purposes, by the BUSH ADMINISTRATION. Bush DID lie about IRAQ. He FAILED to organized the capture/killing of public enemy #1. He was WAS RESPONSIBLE for the WORST economic crash in history, along with the worst attack ever on American soil.
Pres Obama pulled us back from the financial brink, killed public enemy #1, and before this is all done we WILL have a fair and decent healthcare system.
The only thing the RW has done, since 2008, is organize new ways to try to destroy this country entirely. Better to rule in hel........

If the Eagles had the Jags, the Bucs and the Vikes in their division....they would probably STILL finish below 500. Personally, I think the Jags are better than the Eagles. The Jags are in a better division, and have a more difficult schedule. If the Jags beat the Bucs next week, I say the worst team in the league is the Bucs. The Eagles are second to worst, THEN the Jags and then the Vikes. Giants and Skins after that.....

One thing I will say that is kinda cool. The Offense really is pretty awesome. They showed they can run AND pass....pick your poison. The team COULD still go 9-7, or even 10-6 in this weak division. Yeah, they make an average offense look spectacular, but I think they could also make an average defense look pathetic. One thing this division has a lot of right now is "average".

That's a better solution than no tax at all, but it puts States that rely solely on sales tax (like Alabama) at a terrible disadvantage, and gives a huge advantage to states with no sales tax and high income tax.

Riddle me this GENIUS. Why does the mom pop store that works so hard to keep their doors open in Philly...the store that employs local men and women have to COLLECT and PAY sales tax, while internet companies, who contribute SQUAT to Philly pay NOTHING.
If you had any sense at all you would realize that MANY don't even have a warehouse. They receive payment, and issue "drop-ship" POs to manufacturers and wholesale distributors.
As soon as RW dil-dos like you hear the word tax....you pounce. No thought. No sense. Just POUNCE. Like DOGS trained by FOX.

Does your mother know you are on the internet? Seriously. Wow
Sat., 09/14/13 - 09:57 AM
So, therefore, by your logic....sales tax should not have to be paid? What does one thing have to do with the other.
Besides, your wrong. Since internet retailers do not have to pay things like rent or utilities, they usually are able to charge far less, or provide free shipping. a couple of guys in a basement does not carry the kind of overhead that a Main Street retailer carries. Most internet retailers stock NOTHING. They drop ship items from distributors and manufacturers. Educate yourself.
Sat., 09/14/13 - 09:53 AM
Sorry folks, but most "internet sales" companies are exactly that.....internet sales. They do not manufacture products. They do not stock products. They do not ship products. They create almost NO JOBS, while sacrificing many. I have ALOT of experience with many internet businesses. A couple of guys in a basement with a server is NOT a business. And if it is.....why is it they are not also required to collect/pay sales tax when the 50 year old family owned business down the street has to?
It's real simple Faux News followers.....If one American business is REQUIRED to do it....they ALL should be required. Since you RWers are so fond of "States Rights", why doesn't my state have the right to apply sales tax in a fair and EQUAL manner? Could it be that RWers don't believe in equality?...You betcha!
Remember RWers....YOU decided that Amazon, as a corporation, is now a CITIZEN. This being the case, it should not be subject to MORE, or less, laws than the next "person".

I was surely a naysayer before this season started (based more on the D then the O). However, I must say it feels like it's been a loooong time since I've been this excited in week 2. Here's the kicker though....It's all or nothing. Either this offense Is going to steamroll everyone, or it's gonna be completely exposed. We reach (at least) the Championship game by next year, or Chip is gone. Chip could never run a traditional offense if this "gimmick" stars to fail. My fear is, if one coach figures out how to kill it, they all will.

I want nothing more than to see the Iggles win, but this Defense has very little talent, and no leader. Starting in Jr Pee-Wee ya gotta have that talented hard-hitter who can lead the way. Fun practices and fancy protein drinks cannot trump a lack of talent. Hope I'm wrong, but since I'm not, it's gonna take a monumental effort from the offense to make up for what the D lacks.

I'm hopeful as can be for Kelly and the Eagles, but this whole thing is a bigger mess than they are letting on. The team NEEDS a Brian Dawkins, but Williams is NO Dawkins. It's one thing to get a tough dude with talent, it's a whole different deal when you pick up a goon. That's all Williams is....A Goon.
Just as importantly....they should have cut Riley Cooper. A mediocre receiver with racial issues? Really? If they were at a the draft, in any round, would they want to pick up a mediocre cornerback (at best) with an attitude PROBLEM, and a racist who happens to be a mediocre receiver?

Folks, please wake up and realize something. In our marvelous country, business and commerce are meant to exist for the benefit of the people. In the last 30 years, the media, Govt and business have conspired to convince the people that business is priority #1. That without business, you will cease to exist, and therefore, you should be willing to give up everything to support business. I ask you, if a business works to tear apart society, is it worthwhile in the society it is meant to SERVE. I have a boss who had the audacity to send out a broadcast e-mail to all employees stating that, under Obamacare, all employees would be taxed for any healthcare benefits he provides.

McD's was once a good, and reputable company. I believe Ray Kroc was a smart guy with a strong vision. Nowadays, McD's corporation is just a bunch of shareholders seeking profits. In today's environment, business "leaders" who outsource and slash costs (NO MATTER THE CONSEQUENCES) are considered visionaries. These faux visionaries are the kind of people businesses seek. The Muellers are franchisees, but they reflect the business acumen of their business partner (McD's Corp). Christie is beginning to endear himself to moderate Democrats and moderate Republicans. If Romney could have done the same....he would be President right now. Fiscally moderate Democrats, like me, saw that Romney was nothing but a puppet. Unlike Romney, I believe Christie when he speaks. He says what he thinks, and there is much of it I don't like, but he speaks it, and backs it up the best he can (without lies, and stories that involve black helicopters or rumored brown shirt revolutions...).
I have been completely supportive of President Obama on healthcare and tax increases. NOW I DO want to see some serious spending cuts on the "entitlements" (I HATE that word), and defense. If President Obama FAILS to keep that promise, Christie has won a vote over Hillary. Worse, I will go back to contributing to Republican House/Senate campaigns. The best thing Christie could say, if pressed, is "I believe that further regulations will do nothing to curb gun violence (if that is what he believes)....but I also believe the LOBBYING group, known as the NRA, is useless in this debate.
Personally, I think that the executive orders and proposed Congressional items seem relatively mild. I thought some of it was already law. Alot of fairly common sense stuff in there.

For all you RW nuts out there. I took the time to read the Faux News article about the Black Panther, and INDEED THERE IS A BLACK PANTHER STANDING OUTSIDE A POLLING LOCATION. Apparently, he is a registered, unarmed, pollwatcher. He is in his own neighborhood, is not handing out any literature, or talking to anyone. He is there legally. He may be an azhole, but as long as he does not break any laws, he is a legally placed azhole.
READ the articles people, not just the headlines.

I live in Tennessee. These are the worst bunch of crooked RW, lying rednecks you will ever meet. I used to be a Republican until I moved here and found out what the "party" was really all about. Believe me when I say, you are better off blue than red.

The O-line sucks right now, but what was Vick's excuse before the injuries? What was the excuse for 8-8 last year? Vick had a few great games since coming to Philly.....that's all.
They should have benched Vick and fired Reid....at halftime. What I want to know is how, with all the potential in the world, this defense STILL sucks.

Well written. Seems as if Romney has been running for President since birth. Out of touch is an understatement. He is the latest puppet boy for the arch-criminal Rove, and the Monarchist Koch brothers. Even without the POTUS chair, Repubs are managing to change this country from a Democracy to an Oligarchy (See the repeal of McCain-Feingold). Vote for Mitt Romney? Heck, we might as well elect Paris Hilton.
Look at Jimbojum's response. An educated voter? I think not.
Nicher wants to stop spending money, so I guess Pres Obama will be getting his vote afterall....because Romney wants to cut 5 trillion MORE in taxes (on top of the Bush tax cuts that have never been paid for), and spend 2 trillion on boats. Pschulze thinks we should "admire" Romney. Personally, I've learned enough. I'll take a community organizer over a VULTURE Capitalist and billionaire puppet boy any day of the week.

It maks me laugh when I read comments from RW numbskulls like Phillyisdone. Govt handouts apparently cause ALL problems. Taking away Govt handouts will solve all problems. Drug addicts will all go get high paying jobs when welfare is taken away. Hey genius, how many murders in Philly somehow involve drugs/addicts? Tax cuts for everyone (especially the 1%), and crime will go down!
Hey genius, how's that Nancy Reagan "war on drugs" working out(ever notice how the RW declares war on everything, but never actually fights or themselves)? About as well as her husband's economic policies worked out. Keep listening to Beck.

We have been told for 30 years that jobs would be leaving for 3rd world countries, and they have. Corporations opened distribution facilities in the South, then opened manufacturing in China and Mexico. As a result things like mortgage foreclosures happened. That caused banks to crumble. Do you people REALLY believe that THAT MANY people were given loans they could not afford at the time they were written? Puh-leeze! The Eagles attempted to clarify the confusion by saying Avant had a "mild" concussion. Jason asked if they would clarify just who the heck Avant is.

A heartless secondary. If the star player (Samuel) is unwilling to tackle anyone, why should anybody else? I think Mr all or nuthin has ruined that secondary. McDermott is in wayyy over his head. Stew Bradley is about as overrated a player as I have ever seen in my life. Thank God Vick is coming back in. We need a player that can single-handedly take over a game. Like him or not....that's what this team needs right now to at least stay above .500

Truly a rebuilding year. The O will have some bright spots, but the D is going to flat out stink. Samuel is an all flash CB. If he cannot tackle by now, he never will. McDermott will be gone after the upcoming season. I don't believe they ever intended for him to stick. He is the fall guy for the rebuilding.

Dear Mr Lurie, Westy was always the heart of the offense. Without him at a pre-2007 level, you didn't have a prayer. Let McNabb go. Give Vick another 2 year deal. Hope Celek can provide the CPR for the offense next year. REVAMP THE D, especially the secondary. Samuel is an interception stat hog. He looks okay on paper, but gives up more big plays than he gets....trade him for a pass rusher to compliment Cole. Find us a real hitting safety. Get the linebackers in order. I don't know how, but it has to happen....Bradley wont be enuff. The Boys have been building to beat your team for the last ten years. They finally found the recipe. You better find one alot faster than that. We won't stand for sub-par for long.

The offense wasnt good, but the defense was worse. A good offense feeds of a strong defense (and vice versa). The first Dallas drive set the tone for the game. Bend, and then break defense. There is no heart on the D right now. No B-Dawk, No Jerome Brown, No Reggie White. Closest we have is Trotter (who really did try hard, but just doesn't have it to give), and then, of course ya got Showboat Samuel who does nothing but try to pad his int stats. If he gets beat, eh, why bother tacklin? Trade him away while he is worth a player with some balz and some heart.

"penultimate" = Somebody got a dictionary for Christmas. Seriously, with a patchwork LB corps, a little support by the deep secondary is an absolute necessity. Prima Donnas like Samuel don't want to get dirty, so close calls like this are nearly guaranteed. The Cowpukes have a committee of RBs that are willing to pound the middle. This concerns me, and should concern Big Red too. I don't believe McDermott has the gameplanning skills to disguise this weakness (He hasn't so far). All we can do is count on McNabb and the receivers to outshoot the Cowboy's O. It might get us by the polkies, but it will never get us past N.O. or Minn.

There is no state income tax here. I paid 135k for a 4 bedroom 2500 sq ft single with 1/2 acre of land. My taxes are $1200 per/yr. The Public schools are good. So good, there are very few private schools. My teenagers are actively involved with school and sports. I doubt they have ever even tried an illegal drug. Everything good about big big-city living exists about 1/2 hour from where I live. only downside is sales tax at 9%, but it's worth it!

Guys like Favre and P Manning are clutch. It's what seperates them from McNabb. I can't even recall a big comeback game by McNabb. Maybe there are a few, but I can't even recall one. A highly talented QB with mediocre heart at best. A great QB can lead a team to victory almost singlehandedly while the team around him is struggling. When the rest of the Eagles struggle, McNabb struggles right along with them.

I'm always amazed to read some of the comments on here. Garcia is a warrior. He doesn't have anything close to the talent of McNabb or Vick, but give either of them half the heart of Garcia, and they could easily have a pair of SBs each. A guy who is always focused on the game, and keeps on looking down the field for the next score, unlike McNabb who has somehow figured out how to play "prevent" offense. Maybe Kolb can get a little of what Garcia has to offer. He's doomed with Vick and McNabb as mentors.

I love the Eagles, but sadly, this could be a very mediocre year, in spite of all the early hype. Just too much bad is happening. The D lost it's heart in B-Dawk, then it's soul in JJ. On O we can only hope Westy can put it all back together. Shawn Andrews has simply LET THIS TEAM DOWN. For once, it may be the receivers who actually shine on O, but it won't be enough. The prospects being cut haven;t done much to help push this team either.
