Not a line for the comic but is anyone else always getting an error when they try to like a response?

I don't see what's the big deal with just having Ryan bat 5th for a while (or even 3rd) and put Domonic Brown in the cleanup spot.

When will Phillies fans see the Yankees come to Citizens Bank Park again? It seems like it has been a long time.

What's wrong with Cliff Lee? Don't ask the Phillies.

There's clearly a monkey on Cliff's back and I think once he gets that first win he will start to pitch a lot better. I also think he may not be over blowing that four run lead in Game 2 last year. He hasn't won a game since.

Thank God the Eagles are finally spending money (McCoy and DeSean)! I may actually like them again.
Inside the Phillies: Phillies' Ruiz is league's most undervalued player

I liked Chooch batting fifth behind Pence for now until Chase and Ryan come back. He's proven he can hit and why are we letting no namers like Ty Wiggington, Lance Nix, or John Mayberry bat ahead of Ruiz? None of those guys helped the Phillies win a World Series. Just because he's a catcher doesn't mean he has to bat 7th or 8th.

It looks like at least for the start of the season that the Phillies are spreading the three aces out instead of going Halladay-Lee-Hamels in a row. I think it's good for now but late in the season you would love to throw the three aces in a huge series.

Andy, if you want to know why your team isn't going to the playoffs, it was your idiot decision to deactivate DeSean for the Arizona game that cost the Eagles a playoff berth. When you own up and say that was a mistake, I'll respect you.

If Andy Reid doesn't deactivate DeSean for the Arizona game, the Eagles are 8-7 and control their own destiny to win the NFC East next week vs. Washington, regardless of who wins between Dallas and New York (Eagles would have swept Dallas and had better divisional record than the Giants). All because the Eagles organization is too cheap to pay DeSean what he's worth and Andy Reid would rather show who's boss than actually win games. Enjoy the playoffs on TV, Eagles.

Take care of Cole Hamels and Jimmy Rollins first before giving a reliever that much money.

Let's put some perspective into this. Doc is a terrific pitcher and won a lot of games for the Phillies. He has not won us a World Series. Cole Hamels has. Cole will be my favorite Phillies pitcher until Roy and/or Cliff win the Phillies a World Series (then again, if that happens Cole will have won us two World Series).

If they really wanted to even the leagues and avoid the interleague every day scenario (which I don't think anyone has even figured out if it's even possible without expanding the number of interleague games), they could always add two more teams and make it 32. Of course finding two cities and two viable stadiums and the usual dilution of talent in baseball are issues, but it is a nice round number and either eight divisions of four or four divisions of eight work a whole lot easier.

Maybe a better question that who pitches "second", how about who bats second? I know it was just one game but I kind of like Shane #2 and Placido #5 although would you rather have more speed in the two hole or a guy with a better batting average?
Sat., 06/11/11 - 13:35 PM
You have to give Cole a long term deal. Forget he's the only one of the "four aces" with a World Series ring, he's the youngest by five years. Long term, he's by far the most important. He could be in a Phillie uniform for the next 10 years if they want.
Sat., 06/11/11 - 13:28 PM
In a four game rotation and a seven game series, the Game 3 pitcher would be in line to pitch Game 7. I'd want my second or even my ace pitching that game. You shouldn't "have" to pitch your ace Game 1. I'd want either Hamels or Halladay pitching Game 7 depending on whether I'm facing a heavily right or heavily left handed rotation. I'd agree with your rotation David: Halladay, Lee, Hamels, Oswalt. If it's the seventh game of the World Series, wouldn't you want someone who has a ring and a World Series MVP on the mound?
