Blog Post: Flyers' Bryzgalov: 'We're not good' - 1 out of 85 total comment(s)
- Wed., 03/06/13 - 10:53 AMBryz is right, they are not good, especially the defense. Timonin is showing his age by taking obstruction penalties due to his slowing down. Coburn is showing that he's not as good a D-man as touted. He's hesitant, which is causing a lot of turnovers. Just look at his plus/minus. He's tied for team worst at -9.
Bryz also needs to look in the mirror as he's like 0 for every breakaway this year. That does not help, especially in shoot-outs when a goalie can steal a point for a team.
I also think it's time to unload Briere for someone that will at least contribute something. He floats around the ice doing nothing. He may step it up in the playoffs but they have to get there first.
Blog Post: Flyers' win is one for the ages - 1 out of 17 total comment(s)
- Thu., 04/12/12 - 12:55 PMAfter it was 2-0, I told my father that the Flyers had the Pens just where they wanted them. Oddly, it seems to be the case lately.
Article: Flyers hope they've addressed consistently inconsistent woes - 1 out of 34 total comment(s)
- Wed., 06/29/11 - 11:34 AMPersonally, I am happy to see Richards and Carter gone. Both became too predicitable. Richards always skating into traffic and losing the puck or trying the blind, backhanded shovel pass to no one. Carter skating down the wing and firing off an errant shot that would lead to a breakout by the opponent. Both were guilty of being individual players not team players, which, in my opinion, caused a lot of the offensive problems.
Sure, in Carter you may be giving up 35-40 goals a year but when a guy takes 335 shots, he should score more than 10% of the time. Plus, the shot total does not include missed shots, which I am sure would probably add at least another 150.
It was time to get rid of the individuals and create a team. Hopefully, they're on the right path.

Blog Post: Alphabet Soup Line helps Flyers salvage a point - 1 out of 14 total comment(s)
- Mon., 04/04/11 - 16:15 PMIMO, some of key players have become predicitable and the opposition has taken advantage. If I can see the following, so can the other teams:
Richards: try to stickhandle through 3 or 4 defenders and lose the puck EVERY time or toss a blind, backhanded pass to no one and start a counter rush.
Carter: Skate down the right wing to the circle and shoot, most of the time the shot goes wide and out of the zone. Note to all those who will say "he has scored 36 goals." So would I if I shot 320 times!
To this day, I still do not understand the love affair with Nodl and Carcillo.
