Blog Post: Mr. President, use your bully pulpit on climate change! - 2 out of 45 total comment(s)
- Wed., 01/23/13 - 06:48 AMWhat idiots climate deniers are. They get hotter ever day and fail to notice it.
- Wed., 01/23/13 - 06:47 AMEvery president since Nixon has promised to address environmental problems. Each one has promised to reduce emissions and to get us on to a sustainable path. It's not that they don't want to. It's not that the majority of Americans don't want sane policy. It's that there is nothing they can do to obstruct the capitalist drivers of our economy. A quote making the rounds goes like this: "It has become easier to imagine the end of the world than to envision the end of capitalism." I bitterly agree with that now.

Nope. Sorry I missed it.
Article: Delaware man charged with molesting four children - 1 out of 6 total comment(s)
- Sat., 06/30/12 - 10:44 AM20% of American children are sexually abused. Even if the population of molesters is only 5%, that's a formidable number. They could create a political party. Not a popular one, but an effective one. Arresting people and putting them away won't stop the problem. The problem is systemic, cultural. We need to find out what it is that motivates these people and, well, never mind. That will never happen. The rush for vengeance without attempting to understand is also part of our culture.

Blog Post: John Bolaris no longer employed by Fox 29 - 2 out of 114 total comment(s)
- Tue., 01/10/12 - 18:37 PMAnd you put people down to make yourself better? Is that how it works? And who steps on you?
- Tue., 01/10/12 - 18:13 PMI'm sorry, but he can't have been that good of a meteorologist if he went to Florida for its mountains of snow.
Blog Post: Murdoch's American sins: Less sensational, but more dangerous - 2 out of 71 total comment(s)
- Fri., 07/08/11 - 01:04 AMIt's the misinformation that comes from News Corp that bothers centrists and liberals. We're okay with conservative outlets like National Review and ABC. It's the lies that take over the mainstream as "Fair and Balanced," as well as the self-victimization, that really bothers us. George Will and other educated and (mostly tolerant) conservatives had their share of the spotlight before FOX came around and turned it into a media war.
- Thu., 07/07/11 - 23:33 PMThis might be the best editorial, or article, even, ever produced by the Daily News. For a long time I thought the DN was owned by Murdoch, as it seems to want to be the "sixth borough" of the New York Post, often resorting to the same style of carnival barker headlines and stories.
Blog Post: Dunn's death provides lesson on life - 1 out of 5 total comment(s)
- Mon., 06/27/11 - 13:09 PMAt this point is it really a message or is it a 50-year cliche that's standard after every celebrity death? Nobody's listening. When you're 19, or perpetually 19 as in Dunn's case, the last thing you do is listen to sermon-like lectures about the right way to live.
