More employees stand up for workplace health

I bought a stand up desk about 6 months ago and it has been amazing. My back problems are completely gone since making the change and I feel more alert throughout the day. An unexpected plus is that I sleep way better now. Before I woke up every 2-3 hours and toss/turned. Now I sleep either through the night or wake up only once. If anyone has been thinking about doing this I would suggest you give it a try.

Cuso, I still watch sports. Direct TV has an internet only package for their Sunday Ticket. They normally don't activate the feature where you can order it on their website until late August. I get the MLB internet package as well. NHL offers online viewing. You can watch sports using just the internet. These various packages cost money (especially the Sunday Ticket), but it is still way less than paying cable or satellite tv every month.

We cut the cord on cable almost 3 years without even a moment of regret. You can get everything you want for entertainment through a digital antenna, Netflix or Amazon (either Prime streaming or instant rental). There is absolutely no need to spend big money any longer for your tv content. Some of the the other comments are correct though with their implication that there are better things to do with your time. Get outside. Read a book (a real book in your hands). Everything in moderation......

The real scandal of Obama's second term

Keep up the good work professor. The selective history regarding how great Clinton was has gone without rebuttal for far too long. The stock market did great under Clinton, but he helped lay the groundwork for problems that occurred after he was out of office.

Is this the response to last weekends OP/Ed in the WSJ questioning what exactly Hillary has accomplished to rate the rock star treatment? Hillary may be a fine woman, but she has done little to nothing in her current position beyond travel the globe. Read the WSJ piece which documented just how little she has accomplished. Her "rock star" treatment is as confusing as BO's Nobel prior to doing anything to deserve such an award. The Inquirer is beyond a left-leaning newspaper and has crossed the line to left-wing propaganda.

One can only hope so! Unfortunately we are left to the Repubs damaged goods or even worse: another 4 years of BO! Scary thought indeed........
"I'm probably crazy, but....."
Yes, judging from your far left views it is a very good possibility sir.

In general I am right there with you, but the killing of an unborn baby is perhaps the only issue I can't see compromising on. It is about as black/white of an issue as you can get. Any other issue I can think of can be compromised. If murdering somebody on the street is immoral and illegal, I can't see how killing an unborn baby is seen as a "choice". Just my humble opinion....

You are attempting to pick the better of 2 evils when you frame the question the way you did. Neither party looks out for what is best for the country. Register Independent and vote on the issues each election day. No political party is worthy of blind allegiance. There is nothing wrong with voting for Dems 1 year, Repubs 1 year, and a mic of both any other given year. Of course the Dems and Repubs would have you believe otherwise.

Its easy to be cynical with this type of pretty woman and rich guy scenario, but good luck nonetheless. When a person as wealthy as Ryan decides to settle down it says a lot. He could have a lifetime stream of beautiful women if he wanted.

Book rips DeSean Jackson, labels him a 'jerk'

Dropping the ball before the goal line was a huge mistake in his rookie year. What matters now is how much he has learned and how he applies those lessons. His racial category has no bearing on any of this. I say that as a white male and as a person who would be quick to rip him if he shows a lack of discipline this upcoming season. Give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves us wrong. Go Birds! Can't wait for the new season.....

Discrimination is WRONG!!!!!!!! Well.......not when you are discriminating against the white male.....then it is perfectly acceptable to those on the left. Hypocrisy at its finest! Obama said last week that we are a nation of laws when talking about what he believes to be torture. Hypocrisy strikes again because he ignores our immigration laws. The left won't hesitate to kill a baby even in late term, yet they claim to be watching out for the most needy in our society. This mindset is just confusing.......

Grading the Eagles' draft weekend
- 1 out of 83 total comment(s)
Sun., 04/26/09 - 21:40 PM
This draft went as well as anybody could reasonably expect. McNabb has no excuses now and I hope he performs well. That offensive line could be amazing this year if they can gel quickly. That would mean plenty of time to hit Jackson for long gains once he breaks free from the initial coverage. They need to make sure they give McCoy plenty of touches so that Westbrook can stay fresh and hopefully injury free all year. The Birds could put up a LOT of points this year and that should be reason enough to get everybody excited. Lets just hope the defense can live without our heart and soul, Dawkins. They better bring Dawkins back as a coach, advisor, ....anything! as soon as he retires. He deserves to be treated like semi-royalty in this town. Yes it is a business, but they need to do all they can to show that they do value the hard work put in by our absolute best players.

Talk about timing.....I just received an offer to transfer to a position back home in Philly. I was already second guessing the transfer because the taxes are so high, but now this clown wants to raise them?!? Its like they are intentionally trying to drive everybody who can earn a decent living out of the city. Philly politicians are their own worst enemy.

That better be a darn good contract for the Birds to let him go. Yes he is on down-slide, but his intangibles are among the best in the league. Sign him for 2 years and give him a coaching gig!!!

Its nice to see Q.T. Vietnamese Sandwich Shop getting some love. Their sandwiches are really good and reasonably priced. Sometimes you are in the mood for traditional italian hoagie, but other times when you crave something different, the Banh Mi is a good, healthier alternative.

I want Donovan to stay and be happy here, however I am really frustrated at what seems to be his inability to stay in shape late in the season. He always looks overweight and tired in the playoffs. The flip side of course is the fact that they are fairly regularly in the playoffs! The glass is half full, but that doesn't mean we don't look for ways to make it 3/4 full. Good luck next year Donovan!

RUNYAN STILL WANTS TO PLAY
- 1 out of 50 total comment(s)

I second MarioMick's proposal! Give Jon and Dawkins each a short contract to get them through their career and then make them coaches. The team should have an agreement ahead of time with each player that if their play deteriorates to the point where they are a detriment to the team that they make the transition to coaching even if they have a little time left on contract. The Eagles will stand out as a top tier team among potential key aquisitions if they show that they take care of the best players who stay with the team for all or most of their career. I can accept losing a hard fought game when the players give their all and the team shows their commitment to the players and their community. They did their best, but Arizona was the better team yesterday. Concentrate on the future and you will see there is light down this tunnel.

Will I go see it? No, most probably not. It has nothing to do with Will because he is one of the few enjoyable entertainers in silly movies. However Hollwood no longer makes the best movies. I started watching Asian movies a few years ago and I am hooked. Korea, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan....you name it and they now make better movies with interesting plots. I've paid $30 (2 tickets and a drink/popcorn)and felt ripped off one too many times. Besides, with a large, flatscreen HDTV, a half-decent sound system, and a Blu-ray or upscaling DVD player who needs to go to the movies anymore?
