The Cruze ECO with manual transmission gets 42 mpg so this is going to be a hard sell with Diesel fuel running at a 10 % premium and the diesel (most likely) costing more than the gasoline engine. If the 42 mpg estimate is with an automatic the diesel be about a penny a mile cheaper to run than the gasoline engine.
