Improving - need more international carriers
As a frequent traveler, the overall conditions at the airport have improved. What is badly needed is an additional runway and the addition of international carriers (i.e. direct service to Tokyo, etc). We rely too much on US Airways for travel to non-US locations, and the introduction of competition would improve prices and service.

Long lines for runway
Spent 30mins waiting in quene to take off for Fort Lauderdale FL which was a 2hr 20min flight. Pilot informed us that we were number 24 in line to take off.

Airline recruitment
I have no gripes flying in and out of PHL, especially on off peak hours. But I really think the airport needs to work on recruiting airlines that some major cities boast. For instance, Virgin America, based in San Francisco, flies in and out of JFK, DC, and Logan to the west coast. Why is Philly skipped? We could use a contemporary, domestic airline like that or Jet Blue. And our international traffic has been great, but we really need to get some big names here (Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Emirates, Qantas, LAN). USAir is part of the Star Alliance, so maybe that will help to get some its partners here? Just a thought...

More runways
Delays are a huge problem. There's a capacity issue. More runways are needed. It's a shame that Tinicum park would have to go, but there's no other way to relieve those queues/backups without more runways to allow more takeoffs. I sit on the runway every time I take off there now. Baggage is outrageous. Inside of the airport is good for restaurants, shops...etc.

First impression
If the philly airport is responsible for first impressions its a wonder anyone lands here for any reason. Another national joke that has forced its citizens to park along the highway then ticket them.

Terminal F is the worst
What is the deal with Terminal F? Not connected post security with everything else, long lines at Airport security and always a delay flying out of F!! WORST

Enforce the Proper Security Lanes!
Ami I the only very frequent flier who is sick and tired of having the "Expert Traveler" lane being used by first time fliers? They should install "I will take forever taking my shoes off" lanes and "I can be through security in 2 minutes" lanes! Maybe then people will get it!

a US Airways/Southwest Monopoly makes for bad commerce
I am a frequent flyer who moved to Philly from DC three years ago. Having flown from DC, I was used to JetBlue, Virgin America, Alaska, and other airlines that treat you like a person; not cattle. Those airlines, however, cannot fly into PHL due to an unethical monopoly on gate space leased by the city to US Airways and Southwest. As they take the major terminals, other airlines can't fly large equipment (nonstops) into PHL. This makes Philly a far less attractive airport than Newark (for example) as it's majority of gates are leased to the lowest rated major airline in the US.
