Praise
I have to speak out on bahalf of DHS. Most times you hear news about DHS it is not something good. But as a foster mother, I have had a good experience with them. I have met many nice and caring people that work for them. They are doing what is best for my foster son and many other children by protecting them.

There are bad people that work for all agencies and companies but as long as you do the right things you do not have to worry about your time coming because it won't.

Not life or death. But it could be.
I was talking with a friend of mine about how many hospitals (2) are in her area of central PA, when I realized I didn't know exactly how many were in Philly. I went on Google to count. Not all of our hospitals are listed. I'm 36, so I grew up using encyclopedias and such. I went old school, and I decided to count the hospitals in the phone book. They aren't all listed there either! How would someone new to Philly locate medical help, when we fail to list where the help is? This is a hidden problem that no one is directly responsible for, so I thought I'd send up a flare, to see if anyone could help.

WHY DOES FAMILY COURT MAKE IT SO EASY TO BE A DEADBEAT DAD (OR MOM) IN PHILA.
My daughter is a young single mom who works very hard at staying out of the system. the only aid she receives is daycare assistance, also tuition help. My wife and I also help, but she works very hard and goes to school, we are fine with that, that's what you're supposed to do. My issue is when she went to family court with the baby's father they were ok with him saying he quit his job. There was neither consequences nor stipulations put on him by the court. They simply set a new court date and said try to find a job in the meantime. Why don't they set a minimum amount of money due and let it tabulate to give some incentive to help. In the meantime she is left to fend for herself. They seemed more concerned with handling dad with kid gloves than the child's welfare. Please help us make the dad help. Thank You, John D
