Once again.......how does anyone know that she did not grow her own nails? That she doesn't manicure them at home? That she doesn't paint them herself? Is she supposed to run around looking like a slob because of school uniforms? She works hard for her money. If she does pay for her nails.....she's not entitled to do things for herself? You people, once again, are opinionated idiots.
That's the problem with a lot of these people in Philly, they never take personal responsibility. Go to Walmart, buy some cheap pairs of khakis and shirts, and stop the whining.
Could she have possibly done her nails herself, and NOT spent the $100.00? I don't do my nails, so I have no idea if this is something you can do yourself, or if you have to have a manicurist do it.
It's called making sacrifices for your kids. Don't get your damn nails done and then complain that you don't have money.
Can't afford food, let alone school uniforms. But sure can afford to spend stimulus check at Best Buy on huge flat-screens and the finest cellular phones available.
jackpaul - you're missing the point.....she is entitled to do things for herself but don't cry poor and say times are tough and she has to buy food for her family while she is getting her nails done. It's called setting priorities.
If mommy don't like it pull the kid out of school and send her to private or parochial school.....I forgot that costs real money.Mommy wants everything for free and was not involved in her daughters education or she would have been aware of the uniform policy.Stop lying and purchase the proper clothing mommy then STFU.
jackpaul - it's possible, but HIGHLY unlikely that her nails were a DIY job. There's a difference between being a slob and getting something so unnecessary as that manicure. Doing things for yourself is fine, but you shouldn't sacrifice money that could be used for your child. However, I do agree that uniforms are over-priced (I went to Catholic school and remember my parents paying $80 for a blazer...) and the policy sounds too strict. If the students are dressed neatly and appropriately, there should be some leeway in the rules.
Y'all need to quit hatin' on Cruella D'Hood. Her nails look sweet.
uniforms are cheaper than street clothes. go to foreman mills, and get some $5 polos and $9 khakis. no baby phat jackets for mom.
"You people, once again, are opinionated idiots."
well, that's certainly an opinionated thing to say. read flyers2009's comment. you did indeed miss the point, and may have started the name-calling prematurely.
As an African American woman, I'm so sick and tired of these GHETTO parents and all their excuses and whining!!! To Ms. Cruel, you sound like a da*m fool to say that buying a uniform is too expensive and I see your fingernails. I get my nails done(not like that nonsense she has on her fingers), so I know it costs about $40-$50 a month to maintain her style if she's getting them done every 2 weeks. Well I say take that money and go to Forman Mills, WalMart, KMart, Target...etc and buy your daughter some uniforms!!! Stop making excuses and portaying yourself as some sort of victim. When are we as Blacks going to start taking our children's education seriously? I have two children in Cathlic Schools that I work my behind off to afford. If that means I have to go without, then so be it! I learned how to sew and I make a lot of my OWN clothes to save money. I like to give my children nice things just like any other parent, but I'm not going to let that supercede their necessities. Why don't you get your priorities straight and maybe you will have enough money for food and UNIFORMS!
well said...
Time for AL and Jesse.
aheckstall, bravo! I wish there were more like you. The ghetto entitlement attitude is frustrating to deal with or witness.
