It is sad to read that this "boy" never stood a chance because at the age of 10, he was already a criminal. I don't know all the details, but when you grow up in the 'hood, you gain an understanding of the low-level mind-set that most youths are raised with.
Most of these thugs have been taught to believe that being a good student is weak, that getting a diploma doesn't matter, getting an education is for fools and getting a job is the wrong thing.
A lot of these kids have more sneakers, cell phones, video games and bootleg DVDs than books. You know how many homes in the 'hood don't advocate reading?
These kids are doomed at birth, especially when mommy and daddy are uneducated, or parents are teenagers. Angry at the world for the supposed strikes already against them.
See, these fools aren't taught that life is a blessing.
They believe they are actually fighting for what's theirs when they hang on a dirty corner outside a Chinese restaurant, or when they buy all the designer clothing and nonsense that is making already rich people richer.
They even sit on their steps and watch the trash blow in their face, not once thinking of cleaning up, going to work, reading or anything productive.
There are young men who sell drugs for the higher-ups, out in the cold, heat, snow, rain, making maybe 50 bucks a day - and none own the property they live in.
They have no clue that there's another way to live, and I think they really don't want to know. They have mommas who have five or more kids with different men. They can't read, write or reason when needed. Instead, they get into a life of crime, go to prison, become "pillow-biters," get released even more angry.
Oh, let's not forget that, while in prison, they take on a Muslim name while having no knowledge of the teachings of Islam. Their mothers and fathers actually advocate violence, stupidity and crime. But that's not an excuse by any means - it's just the truth of the low-level mind set most are raised with.
See, they hate life, because they hate themselves, never really knowing why people don't want them in certain neighborhoods, never really taught that real love comes only with discipline and self-respect.
So the next time someone complains about one of ours being beaten or killed by the authorities, it's only because we show them that we ourselves don't care.
We live like uneducated animals and, sadly, we are treated likewise. The blame is on the parents first, then the offspring who refuse to make better choices in life!
