No ally of the U.S.

A petition on the White House website for a bill introduced by

Rep. Ted Poe (R., Texas), chairman of the House Subcommittee on Terrorism; and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R., Calif.), calls for the Obama administration to officially designate Pakistan as a state sponsor of terrorism.

As a person of Pakistani descent, I advocate for this designation, because the Pakistani government has ripped off the American government for years by fronting as an ally in the war on terror, while acting in the exact opposite way in the background. From harboring and funding terrorist groups to upholding a constitution that allows for draconian blasphemy laws that marginalize minority religious communities, Pakistan and its corrupt policies have had adverse effects on the region.
