A vote of confidence

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has extended its management agreement with Faith and the Future Foundation, the nonprofit organization established to oversee and manage 17 high schools and four special-education schools. Four years ago, there were questions about whether lay leaders would step forward to stabilize, sustain, and strengthen these legacy institutions. We now know that the answer is a resounding yes. Archbishop Charles J. Chaput has encouraged us to reengage the community and discuss the value of Catholic education in a way that hadn't been possible.

As we begin this next chapter in Catholic education, we do so with partners and supporters who spur innovation. We do so with a growing enrollment. We do so with outstanding academic and cocurricular programs. And we do so with more than 90 percent of our graduates attending two- or four-year colleges and more than 60 percent of graduating seniors receiving college scholarships.

"Individually excellent but better together": I am grateful that Chaput and so many others support that vision for our thousands of students.
