Letters: FEED THE HOMELESS: IT'S THE RIGHT THING

MAYOR Nutter: I think it wrong for you to say that we cannot feed the homeless. If it is a crime and my mother can go to jail for not feeding me, who are you to say that we are not allowed to feed the homeless?

MAYOR Nutter: I think it wrong for you to say that we cannot feed the homeless. If it is a crime and my mother can go to jail for not feeding me, who are you to say that we are not allowed to feed the homeless?

As a 9-year-old child, I feel that this is a bad decision for you to make as the leader of our great city. Who are you to tell us that we cannot feed those who need help? I will continue to feed anyone who needs help because I was taught that it would be the right thing to do.

Rick Santorum is an undercover agent of the Democratic party covertly embedded with the intention of coercing the Republicans into nominating a candidate who will be defeated by Barack Obama.

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrinch said that if he was elected president he would keep the price of gasoline down to around $2.50 a gallon. No president can control the cost of gasoline because the price is controlled by the market.

If this was true wouldn't President Obama have the gasoline at around this price or lower himself? It's amazing how the Republicans blame President Obama for everything negative in this country, but they don't give him any credit for anything positive in this country. Under the Bush administration, when gas jumped to $4 a gallon, everybody blamed the market and the petroleum industry, nobody blamed Bush. But now, as soon as gasoline prices soar again, everybody wants to blame President Obama.

John Perzel should have received a long prison sentence. If ex-governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich got 14 years, then ex-Speaker of the House Perzel deserved 20 years. Perzel's crimes were more injurious, directly ruined ten other people's lives (found or pleaded guilty), lasted for many years, involved large amounts of tax payers' money (stolen), manipulated election outcomes, and violated the public trust in the highest offices of our legislature.

Wilkinson everywhere

It's about time that Philadelphia Media Network raised Signe Wilkinson's profile by publishing more of her work, in the Inquirer and Philly.com. She is a civic treasure who deserves to be celebrated for her acerbic wit and brilliant editorial cartoons on both local and national issues. I can't get enough of Signe's cartoons and I'm glad to be a subscriber of both papers so that I can see all of her work on a daily basis.
