Letters: Business help for immigrants

YOUR coverage of the difficulties faced by Chinese restaurant owners put a spotlight on an important issue. The nonprofit Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians (www.welcomingcenter.org) offers services to business owners of all backgrounds to help them operate safely and successfully.

Our downloadable Merchant Safety Guides are available in English, Spanish and Chinese. Thanks to support from the city and state, our business-clinic classes are free to low-income entrepreneurs. English for Entrepreneurs helps immigrants learn basic business vocabulary, personal greetings and customs around small talk and eye contact.

As isolation and tensions are reduced, our city's commercial corridors will become safer, friendlier and economically stronger. This is good for neighborhood residents and our city's economy.

Great Pelle article

Thanks for the great feature on Pelle Lindbergh. I never thought I'd see the day again where my favorite hockey player and idol graced a full back page in the

Daily News.

I'm happy to know there are still die-hard fans who will always remember not only how great a player Pelle was, but also the great person he was.

I'm a Flyers fan for more than 20 years, and Pelle was the reason I started playing ice hockey in the early '90s and the reason I still play ice- and roller-hockey to this day.

My only wish is that Ed Snider listens to the fans, puts Pelle in the Flyers Hall of Fame and hangs that No. 31 banner from the Wells Fargo Center where it belongs. Pelle Lindbergh was and still is one of the most beloved Flyers in team history.

I know Pelle is shining down on the Flyers fans from heaven.
